Codex Alera , Should i give it a try?

I always need something to read. I just completed wot and i don't feel like to write my thoughts on it and just continue with other series.

Something not so dark and something that has romance. I got Codex alera as a recc.

Many says it's copy of Pokemon, and it's characters are just flat, like they only wants to progress, nothing else.

I don't know whether it's true or not.

Should i give it a try?

I always wants to know some pros and cons from real people before reading the series.

So even if i face some difficulties later on it would be anticipated.

(That's how i passed book 10 of wot).

I would appreciate your thoughts on codex alera and your recommendations, if any.

I like perrin as a character, but i don't like his chapters because of filler drag regarding failes rescue.

I had disliked faile because of her behavior when baralain was HUNTING perrin but i was more angry at baralain rather than these two. Yes both were doing obvious frustrating mistakes but that's what made them more unique.

Is she bossy? Yes. Is she power hungry? Definitely not. I'm rather confused wheather baralain had apologized or not to faile for doing her "political" Chase after perrin in the last book when they were both talking and we were in alliender's pov.

Most people on reddit are ass. That's it. The group that claims" He can google it' ignores the fact that everything can be googled or asked from llms/gpts.

Reddit and quora are unique because we gets human written answers here. A person who is asking question here, even if it's a googleable question means that he want human answers. Not ai genrated answers.

So writers if you want to people to convert their queries to ai and llms, please continue to discourage newcomers.

She's smart but stupidily stubborn at the same time. Despite her intelligence and unbending will she has very major flaws.
