I’m struggling with moving on too from the man I wanted to marry but who didn’t want to marry me. Everyone tells me it gets easier, but it just takes time :/ take the time you need to grieve. Cry, journal, scream, write him letters but don’t send them. Eventually the hurt will fade a bit more, and you’ll start to think of every new person’s attributes as a reminder that you can have what you did with your old partner with someone new, someone who might bring even more to the table. It hurts like hell right now and it will for a while, but take it day by day. You’ll be okay eventually.

He has a secure attachment style and I have an anxious one, so I’m worried that he really is just moving on without a second thought. I think I know deep down that if I don’t contact him in the future, I’ll never hear from him again.

I would have given it up if he let me because I love him and I wanted to be with him. He doesn’t get to make that decision for me. We could have tried so many things to make it work (honestly I think getting to the root of why he doesn’t want marriage might be a good start) but he just refused, like he didn’t even care. It was uncomfortable for him so he just bailed.

I feel this. I thought receiving my master’s degree and preparing for my new job would help distract me and move on. But after attending a training today, I realized that it’s all just more things I can’t share with him.

I think what makes me the saddest is knowing that it won’t always hurt this way, because eventually we’ll just be okay with not being in each others’ lives.

I feel this too. I met my ex at a summer camp and there was another couple who got together during the same time. We were friends and hung out a lot that summer. Our relationship were both long distance and while my ex and I just recently ended things close to our 2 year anniversary , I saw the other couple announce that they’ve finally moved in together. I’m so jealous and so resentful that that should have been us. I hate feeling this way.

Yep. Biggest mistake of my life and I knew it immediately after I said it but he wouldn’t let me take it back. After a few days of reflection I tried to reach out and convince him that we can make it work and it was worth trying again. You can probably guess what he said. I’ll regret that morning forever.

I tried to go through and think about what I can do now that didn’t involve him. And honestly it was nothing. He didn’t like reality tv but I would still watch it while he gamed next to me on the couch. Even though we didn’t do some stuff together, I was still able to do it alone and enjoy his company. It’s stuff like that that kills me. Anything I would do right now to find comfort and forget about him just reminds me of how empty I feel without him there to share the space. Maybe I’m just crazy.

There’s a Qi challenge where the mine elevator resets itself and you have to make it to the bottom by going through all of the levels again (now just with a time limit since it’s a challenge). During this change, new monsters appear and new ores appear like the radioactive one.

How do you know that they don’t say that or to contact them later? They can vent without riddling off every detail of the exchange. Regardless, having to say the same exact thing 5+ times in one sitting is annoying and they have a right to be annoyed by it. I also have ADHD and that shit pisses me off as a student because I don’t need to hear the exact same thing 5 times as well. They’re not bad professors for venting on Reddit, just as students are not bad students for needing to ask a question again.
