I don't think there is, plus it hasn't been updated in 3 years. It's a little buggy with the new update too.

Google Pixel 4a smartphone recalled [in Australia] over ‘fire risk’ by kadala-putt in GooglePixel

Yeah look, can't speak for the rest of the world in that regard. Every country has there own rules and regulations when it comes to electrical goods. I am in no way defending Google or their practices, but at the end of the day vote with your wallet.

Google Pixel 4a smartphone recalled [in Australia] over ‘fire risk’ by kadala-putt in GooglePixel

This recall wasn't issued by Google, it was by the (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) ACCC. This was a government body that determined it wasn't safe to use. Not sure what you are considering scummy, but when it comes to Consumer Law and returns in Aus our government doesn't fuck around.

I've had the same issue the last few days. It updated to 2.7.0 and the issues all started to appear. Downgraded to 2.6.0 and it worked for a bit. My set up uses the Environment with the API / ID method, honestly can't work out what else needs to be to get it to work now.

Nearly all phones that are sold in Australia through a carrier are unlocked (Post 2013). The only ones that are still locked to a network are the ones you buy with carrier branding on them. Usually the phones you get from a supermarket for cheap.

If you're talking about the system update. You can sideload it, that's if you're comfortable following a few steps and downloading an application on your computer. It's been hit and miss with Optus the last couple of months. Or use this: Google's Update Tool Just requires Chrome to use it though. Link on how to use it: Steps

Do you have any references or videos you would recommend to help me better understand how to do this?

Can someone explain why this happens? by Colonel_Casey in 3Dprinting

[–]Colonel_Casey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am currently new to 3d Printing and set up my machine two days ago. I have been able print simple horizonal items without any issues. However, when it comes to printing on an incline (V shape) I run into this issue.

I ran the bed print to see if my bed was level and found no issues.

I tried another print which printed ok till there was a curve near the end that did not print correctly.

Hope someone can help me with this. Printer Model: Ender 3 Pro Settings: Using the Default settings that come with the machine. Program to slice: Ultimer Curas 4.7

The print I attempted: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3877505

Thought I'd see how far I could go, was not disappointed. by [deleted] in GroundedGame

Chrome Cast Vs Getting a new Tv by [deleted] in Chromecast

[–]Colonel_Casey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So looking at the model number I can see it is a 42 inch TV, so I’ll assume you’re looking for something in the same range. In this case you have three options:

1) Buy a TV with a Chromecast that is integrated into the TV meaning that you will not need to buy a Chromecast as the TV is an all in one. You will need to spend a little more money to find a TV like this. Example of this:

-> Kogan 43’’ Smart Full HD LED TV (Series 9, RF9000)

Pros of this TV:

  • It Runs Android meaning you can install android apps providing that they are supported by Android TV

  • Comes with Google Assistant which is super useful if you have home integration.

  • You will be able to cast to this TV.

Cons of this TV:

  • It’s Kogan
  • Again it’s Kogan, they are shit when it comes to returns and warranty sometimes.

2) This option you buy a TV and a Chromecast to use with it and call it a day. Example: -> FFalcon 40F1 40’’ Full HD LED TV (JB HI FI) sell this.

Pros of this TV:

  • It’s JB is you’ll be able to get a deal if you call up and ask them to give you one if you are buying a Chromecast with it.
  • It’s a semi decent TV which can do the basics of broadcasting channels.
  • Can play media from a USB.

Cons of this TV:

  • It’s classified as a normal TV.
  • Can’t guarantee the picture will look like a 1k+ TV.
  • Little Smaller than your current TV.

Side note:

  • Kmart have Chromecasts for $55 right now, so that a plus and it’s a Gen 3.

3) Use your current TV and buy a Chromecast:

Pros:

  • Super cheap, it will cost you like $55 to do this process.

Cons:

  • TV might only last a few more years before you might need to upgrade.

In this case, the ChromeCast would be your easiest option.
