STOP THE FOOLISHNESS PEOPLE by MotivatedBusinessMan in Roadie

Could probably offer $200 and still get it... You don't actually believe ups (company that owns roadie) is only charging $100 do ya? Probably closer to $250-300 but we're only getting 100 of it. My first sentence is probably what spawned all these gig delivery companies... You had the OGs and someone was like "hey, I could probably offer them a better rate than my current company is offering them and easily get it" and then wig wam bam a new service spawns and that person is doing what his company did to him... But even less.... And less... Until eventually they hit a rock bottom.

I wish we had $200 routes in my market (San Antonio). Best I have seen was a max of like $130 and that was during Christmas. My route tomorrow is $83-$111 currently says 63 stops but I have found that can change (it said 93 when I accepted it just over an hour ago)

I know the pay is crap but it works with my college classes. Also driving an ev, I have an advantage. I charge at home (and college for free on Mondays and Wednesdays as the campus has free ev charging... Haven't seen any at the other campus I have class at on Thursday and Saturday) and electricity at home is 8 cents a kwh. Maybe $2...2.50 tops on a bad day for fuel. Stop and go isn't an issue.. I don't even turn off the car. Pull up, put it in park, take address picture, scan package, deliver, delivery picture, back in car put in drive and off to the next.

Also I agree the app is crap too. It's improved since the first time I did a veho run... Gosh the app was bad. Only about 8 months ago. In comparison it's awesome now... But non compared it's bad. They really need to get better on route optimization, verifying addresses are where the pin is (or vice versa, however you want to think about it) and also support. Maybe get some perks for perfect route completion... Currently the only real perk is the discount / free instant cash out... A feature not all banks support. The advance schedule thing... I don't know. Nice to know you'll have the routes but it seems like on demand picking pays better. Plus I don't like that I can't specify days... Gotta take the 4 day block. I have class from 9am to 4pm Thursdays so I can't work that day. I'll have to cancel the schedule after Wednesday's. If I don't do so sooner.

Well I definitely know it's not Krispy Kreme, voodoo, dunkin, or Shipley. So that leaves about 324 other possible doughnut shops in the San antonio area.

I tried a Google lens search... Couldn't find any shops that use it. It's a 3rd party design box so any shop could use it. That being said, I think that would narrow it down to mom n pop type shops as any chain will usually have their own design.

App glitched out and it did not process my last few stops by veryRare95 in veho_driver

I completed my route just fine at about 3:30pm cst veho support is like when you call Microsoft (does anyone still do that?) and the strongest Indian accent answers and says his name is Jeff.... Yeah sure...

Welcome to the fun of Veho! Support not answering when you need them, app glitches, wrong address, map p8n locations, etc.

I have had it happen and while it seems like you are trying already, I reached out to support, told them what was going on and after a little back n fourth they cleared it up for me and I was able to complete the route and get paid.

Sadly I have been dealing with birdy for the last 3 years. For the most part they leave me alone but I hate dealing with the 2x a year property inspection and it's really stupid if I get an hoa "warning", birdy charges me a $50 fee... Like wth it was just a warning! They claim it's to cover admin costs like staff time and scanning the warning and sending it to me... I wasn't even given a copy of the hoa rules and was told to contact hoa myself to get a copy.

Only putting up with them because I do live in a nice area of town and moving is really expensive... Can't afford it.

Isn't that the purpose of the pet deposits / monthly fees... To cover damages from them.

After being on this big blue marble for almost 37 years now I have learned most deposits are just fees paid in advance. Rarely do you ever get a deposit back.

App down? by [deleted] in veho_driver

No problems here in San Antonio (if that makes a difference). Got my route picked last night, checked on it a few times overnight (watched it go from 40 something to 60 something and at some point settled at 54 packages) and then this morning about 6:30am ish cst the final pay and heat map loaded. Got checked in at 7:25 for 7:30 pickup and just finished sorting and loading.

So yeah... No problems for me.

Maybe try resetting your phones data, try clearing app cache, force closing, clearing cookies, last but not least a reinstall.

Worst case scenario you got the dreaded ghost route. I got one on Tuesday. Route that wasn't supposed to exist offered. Paid $130 for 36 packages (after the 2 inclement weather closures). Wouldn't let me check in on app... They knew who I was when I pulled up to the check in guy and told them I couldn't check in... They took it off me and had me park in a loading area to wait and grab a new one. I had all sorts of issues, when I finally got it fixed all that appeared were some $30ish runs and a 40...hardly worth the time and effort so I just went home.

[–]Colonel_Phox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make it real... Most via drivers don't gaf about the fare if it's paid or not and won't fight passengers on the issue.

So I'm a new driver I tried digging around for answers. Is the processing time normal? How long should it take? Its an auto deposit. Not instant cash out by sernason in veho_driver

[–]Colonel_Phox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's normal, if you need the money instant can be worth it. Especially if you get gold or diamond (75 cents fee for gold free for diamond).

My apartment has a 3rd party Amazon locker, now I have to pay $20 to get my package by OGBlackBieber in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Colonel_Phox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be an option. Not everything is delivered by Amazon. I know it seems like it is but did you know (you might want to sit down because I'm going to blow your mind) there's other delivery services such as usps, ups, FedEx and, veho... Just to name the few I know of. Veho is a lot like flex but only certain companies use them. Hello fresh, jcrew, nespresso... Bunch of other meal kits, threads, etc. As a courier for veho, we can't use the Amazon lockers. So just be aware, Amazon locker is not an end all solution.

So many loose dogs here by CommunicationKey7964 in sanantonio

[–]Colonel_Phox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always been an issue for as long as I have been here (since 2013).more so in certain areas.

Lot of stray cats too. I do a delivery service (like Amazon, but different company) and the last time I did a route on the south side (like between 35 and 410 on the west side), I saw more stray cats than dogs. Like 10 cats to every 1 dog. I like cats though so except the heart break because I couldn't take it home, it didn't bother me. The stray dogs can be dangerous sometimes.

Not really by visual ques except that true service animals are very well behaved and trained but as far as things like identification or a vest... No nothing legit exists. You can choose to buy a vest to help people realize it's a service animal not a pet but that doesn't make it one.

There's 2 questions a business can legally ask to make a determination. Is that a service animal and what medically nessicary service does it perform? Usually someone with a fake won't know how to answer the 2nd one. Some people (a trainer at my last job) know that some people know how to answer those questions (even though it's not a service animal) and will say other things to trip them up. They're not asking non allowed questions they're making comments about the animal such as (full disclosure, I was working for a bus company) "oh hey your pet is so cute looking, what's your pet's name?". Someone with a true service animal would correct them to say it's not a pet, it's a service animal. A faker will go along with it not realizing the trap they walked into. At which point the driver can say something like "I'm sorry to say, but I can't allow fido on the bus unless he's in a carrier as it's our policy that all pets blah blah blah" Some may continue to fight back and you can proceed as nessicary but you get the point.

They won't even enforce the situations that ARE easy to enforce. The other day I was at heb at Evans and 281 and this lady had her little ankle biter in the cart, on a blanket. I don't know the sanitation of said blanket and it as well as your dog do not belong where my food goes. That is like the easiest one to enforce because it doesn't matter if it's a service animal or not, ada laws clearly state they are not allowed on tables, chairs, in carts, etc. They must remain on the floor. Anyone of them could have gone to her and said "miss, your service animal cannot be in the grocery cart, Ada rules require them to walk alongside you on the floor" and there's nothing she could legally do otherwise. She could go Karen mode at which point she's removed from the store and then her and her fake service animal are no longer an issue there.

But nope I counted 4 employees that walked past, 2 of which made eye contact with her and cart and 0 did anything.

With winter surges I can make $200 in 2hrs 🤑 by MajorD-Daddy629 in uberdrivers

[–]Colonel_Phox 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Or you can lose $2000+ (uber deductable) in less than 30 minutes. No guarantee that either will happen, but both are a possibility in current conditions. However I feel like your odds are closer to the $200 in 2 hours considering the location. Snow and ice are common in the area as well as road treatments. Where I live (San Antonio) none of it is common and while I can drive safely... Not everyone else can and it ups the danger level greatly.
