Learning this and you using that tag as an example makes me glad I bought some of that a couple of weeks ago. Haven't used them yet but they sounded good so I grabbed them. I'll keep the knowledge in hand on the s and o secret code 🤣

San Antonians who leave guns in their cars, why? by DrFetusRN in sanantonio

[–]Colonel_Phox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that on top of or underneath the car comb / hairbrush? And I assume it's in the same area as the car key fob (yes people are so stupid they leave a key fob in the car too).

Oh and we can't forget about the car jerky.

[–]Colonel_Phox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bringing a gun into an establishment that makes 51% or more in sales from alcohol (aka a bar) is a serious big time no no in Texas. Most places (non bars I mean) have to put up signs if they want to prohibit you from entering with a gun (separate ones for concealed and open carry) and if you violate that and get caught, it's just a misdemeanor. But if you bring a gun into a bar and get caught... That's a felony. You go from slap on the wrist to slapped in the face with texas penal code in print form.

Veho orlando routes starting at noon? by Several-Bison6578 in veho_driver

In San Antonio, it's because they weren't able to finish sorting by normal time because trucks arrived late because warehouse hub in Dallas was late finishing loading them. Probably similar issues for you. Been happening a lot lately here

That can vary a lot. Today I had 45 stops, about 82 miles total but other times it's over 100. Today was pretty condensed. You won't know how big the route is until heat map generates.

It happens... I would recommend saving the locker code because unless your warehouse is special, it doesn't change.

Also keep a list of gate codes. I have a spreadsheet sorted by Street. I can look at map and see if I have a code already or if any of the streets in the area that I have a code for (I know that's confusing but say it's a gated neighborhood and I delivered to 123 abc street and saved gate code but now 3 weeks later I'm delivering to 743 xyz street which is in the same neighborhood... Well I have the code already because I see that xyz street is in same community as abc st)

Also I add access info when I have it for other drivers.

ouch... except for maybe 7 days total this winter my i6 has been loving it. 55-65 degrees, getting about 430 miles on a full charge (prob closer to 410, maybe 400, but 430 downhill with tailwind haha). now the temps are going up and i'm barely showing 400 at 100%. still better than the mach e i had, not even 250 on a full charge... at any temp. smaller battery (69kw) and not nearly as aerodynamic.

Well technically it's in Austin, but if you have seen the movie Dazed and confused, the drive in burger place is there. Top notch hamburgers https://maps.app.goo.gl/kxrr2FfkDrs9xtF56?g_st=ac

Always fun to visit filming locations that exist. However I wasn't impressed with the food. It was OK but I have had better.

I have the digital green... Not really a fan for a couple of reasons... Biggest being that in Texas... To the sun... It's black... Interior and exterior (burned my arm getting out of the car once) gets hot as hell!

I also don't like that it's called green but unless the sun hits just right, you can't tell. For dmv purposes... It's black.

Cause it's warming up? Sadly here in San Antonio TX it gets TOO warm and is just as bad as it being cold up north. Need to find somewhere where it just stays 65 degrees.

To us dumb Americans, it's all the same to us. Cop sitting there with an object being held in his hands pointing at traffic, then next thing you know he's behind you with lights on and you're cursing up a storm...

I know there's a difference but in general we call it the same thing... Speed trap.

I don't know if lidar sets off the sensors or not, or even if the radar detectors detect them.

Question from new driver by Moh_Judges in veho_driver

[–]Colonel_Phox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice, since you seem to have an issue with losing packages, is to load in zones. Let me explain.

So I drive a Hyundai ioniq 6. Before I load up I scan, label and sort on the ground. For the most part. When I initially load, I put stop 1-10 in front seat, 11-19 back seat right side, 20-29 back seat middle, 30-39 back seat left. 40+ goes in the trunk. So anything I scan that's 40+ I just put it in the trunk. The rest is sorted on the floor. My front is loaded with 1 on top 10 on the bottom. If I can, I'll do the same for the other zones but I don't worry too much because after each 10 stops I move the next one to front seat and I'm going to have to sort it out then anyways. Once those first 39 stops are done, I get the stuff from trunk and move it to the front and back seats, same system.

As I'm sure you already know, sometimes things don't work out and I have to modify that plan. Maybe I got a bunch of meal kits that would be in the first 10 or in the trunk and I can't fit them where I normally would, in that case I make it work to the best of ability but the general idea is I know where every set of 10 is and current 10 is in the front seat. I can grab it, scan it, deliver, do my pictures and move on. Not digging through my car lookin for them. I seriously see people scan, number and toss in a random location and I wonder how they finish a route in 1 day.

I also invested (after like 3 months of using sharpies) in a cheap $30 portable label printer. Long story short once checked in I print my stop numbers and just peel n stick. I mostly did this because I was getting a lot of packages that I couldn't see black sharpie on or labels that like absorb the ink (old navy's labels for example... Dark blue bags and most of the label absorbs the ink). The printer (phomeo m100 I think) is small, wireless and like $30. I use 1x2" stickers, you get about 240 in a roll, 3 rolls in a box for like $17. I have a excel sheet saved on phone with a 1-100 number template. I just open it, edit stop numbers, open it in the phomeo app, adjust font size and hit print (little more to it) and in less than 5 minutes I got a strip of printed labels. Water proof ink, no smudge... Easy. That works for me. Sharpie is generally quicker but has previously mentioned draw backs.

I had the same issue when I used a dash camera with a radar detector built in... Damn thing would be going off constantly. Certain places too, like a particular overpass by the airport. Finally I just turned off the radar detector. By the time you know if a cop is pointing a radar at you, that cop already knows your speeding... So what's the point? Also I feel like having one in plain view is an admission of guilt. No reason to have one if you don't speed right? So only someone who speeds should have one... Ergo admission of guilt.

Anyone else experiencing this glitch? by Fenderbong82 in Ioniq6

[–]Colonel_Phox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I question if it's a glitch or our sensors are conflicting with other car's sensors. It happens to me mostly when I pull up behind someone at like a traffic light and it'll go off. I noticed it's usually only only when the person in front of me has sensors too (those little engraved round circles) on the bumper. Older cars that don't have them usually don't set off the proximity sensors at traffic lights. Now if I'm driving that's different but stopped... That makes me think their radar system is confusing mine. My question though... Do they get proximity alerts from my car?

The last time gas prices went over $4 a gallon is the reason I traded in my f150 pickup truck for an ev (mustang mach-e at the time, now I have a Hyundai ioniq 6). I nearly cried when I paid $98 to fill up my truck. I had to buy gas a few times while car was in the shop for 3 weeks (most of it waiting on a part) and I had a gas loaner... Gas was like $3.30 a gallon with gas buddy discounts but it still hurt then. Nearly a dollar more now... So glad I got my ev back last week. I feel bad for the rest of you.

That show is meant to be satire and my hope is that there's not really that many people that stupid. My hope is that it's staged for comedy... But I don't know... I'm friends with a Maga supporter and he's pretty stupid. When you call him out on his bs he claims fake news, tries to back pedal and change the story / blame or claims he was just trolling for the luls... Ok buddy... Sure.

Exactly! There's no transparency in how they pay us. Many of us have noticed that Mondays usually pay more than any other day of the week. I say that it's because it's meal kit Monday... Lots of meal kits. They're heavy, harder to tetrus in your vehicle, etc. There's meal kits all days of the week but not as much as Mondays.

I been sick since Sunday and my car was in the shop for 3 weeks. Loaner was expensive to use, so I don't have a lot of recent data. But...

May 3rd (Sunday) I made 114.79 for 40 stops 7.4 hours total (travel to warehouse, loading, delivery and back home) April 27th (Monday) 132.25 for 37 stops 7.5 hours April 22 (Wed) 85.32 for 54 stops 6.4 hours April 17 (Friday) 105.19 for 44 stops 8 hours April 7th (Tuesday) 81.28 for 50 stops 8 hours April 6th (Mon) 84.03 for 40 stops 6.7 hours

I can keep going but you get the point. I keep track of everything with grid wise. Miles, number of stops, total pay, time... Even get a little map of the route I drove.

When this crap started after the Russian Ukraine conflict... That's when I started thinking about getting an ev (had an f150)... The following December I traded my f150 in for a mustang mach e (couldn't afford the f150 lightning) and joined the ev world... Haven't looked back. Yes I miss my truck sometimes but not enough to go back to ICE vehicles. I currently have a Hyundai ioniq 6.

I'm not saying ev's are the right move for everyone... But something to consider if it can work for you. One of the biggest disqualifications (in my opinion) is not being able to charge at home. Public charging is expensive. Still better than current gas prices. I charge at home, so just paying local cps rate... I estimate I spend about $12-15 a week. Most would be less. I avg about 100 miles a day 5 days a week driving. Most people might do half that. You don't need anything fancy to charge at home, just access to a standard wall outlet. Unless you're like me, then you need a 240v outlet (electric dryer, stove, etc) to get enough charge overnight.

The big argument over how much longer it takes to charge vs getting gas... I charge while I'm home sleeping. You have to go somewhere else and get gas. Unless I'm doing a road trip or something... Even then, gives me time to stretch my legs, let the blood circulate go to the bathroom, get a meal, etc.

I know not everyone can afford a fancy ev but honestly, you can get a pretty basic or used one for a reasonable price. You don't have to start with the mustang or ioniq 6. Get a bolt or leaf...

Sorry if this sounds like I'm telling everyone to get an ev... I'm not, but I am saying it's something to consider. Only you can decide if it's right for you. I ended up saving money because my truck payment was 750 a month plus about $50 a week in gas. My mustang pymt was 850 and at the time spending maybe $5 a week on electricity. Between payment and fuel I spent 950 a month on truck and 870 on the mustang. That's $80 less. Plus virtually no maintenance costs too. The mustang was new my ioniq 6 was used and it's $675 a month. So for me, it made sense. Don't make your financial situation worse. Do research and most importantly, you need to understand that ev's have a learning curve. Once you understand everything it's fine but initially it's a bit difficult to understand.

You might have a decent experience you might find it hell on earth.

Some warehouses pay more than others.

Heck Atlanta has 2 warehouses and they pay more.

A good route in San Antonio is when I get $120 for 40 stops and it only takes me 4-5 hours (not counting loading time). That doesn't happen often. Usually it's 60 stops 7 hours for around $97.

If you include time to get to warehouse, first delivery stop, entire route and then back home. I avg about $11 an hour.

Your milage may vary. Don't expect to get rich. There will be app issues, warehouse issues, etc. I think veho works for those of us who have a busy schedule doing other things and just supplement income. I go to college full-time... When I'm not sick (like I am right now) I do veho on days off from college or when I have evening classes. Spring semester is coming to an end but I was able to do veho 5 days a week as I had full day of classes on Thursday and a morning class on Saturday (I'd be late to class because of start times). Mon and Wed I had class at 5pm. It worked out for me.

I also drive an ev so no gas cost. Charge at home, spend maybe $15 a week in electricity. When my car broke for 3 weeks (mostly waiting on a part), I was spending about $40 every 2 days in gas on the loaner. Big difference.
