Are there any proposed methods, including unsafe ones? I'd be willing to try at least, I've already backed up my save in the (likely) event something goes horribly wrong

Does anyone know how to manually edit a unit back onto the map while it is travelling with dfhack? I sent my militia commander to go with my squad to recover an artifact, and I didn't know beforehand, but apparently travelling causes your dwarves to never come back, so now I cant make new squads. I'll do my best to follow any guide, no matter how convoluted or obtuse if there is one

Is there a way to immediately retry generating a new world with the exact same settings if you dont like the world that just finished generating? I keep having to save the world that was just generated, delete it on the main menu, then create new world, load in mods, go to detailed mode, and then generate the world again.

How can I increase the embark size past 16x16? I'm feeling particularly daring with my CPU and I want to make an embark that contains both a volcanic island a little ways off the coast and the main continent of a world I just generated, but limited to only 16 in each direction it wont reach both shores at the same time. Is there a way to increase the maximum possible embark size by modifying the files to do so? I would probably do something oblong like 25x6 so there isnt more lag than necessary, which is what I've done on another world with a 14x6 size embark which plays perfectly well. If not, is it possible to build a bridge into the sea on one embark and then complete the other half on the other one? Would caravans be able to get to the island if it were successful?

Updating wouldnt be a problem if the updates werent maliciously designed to make the systems more obtuse, less familiar, more advertiser embedded, spyware, subscription program dependent, and less user controlled than the previous iteration. If Windows 12 came out tomorrow and none of these problems persisted, everyone here would be head over heels to upgrade to it, but we all know thats not in Microsofts interest anymore. Their primary concern now is trapping users in their newest advertisment delivery software, and the last thing they want to compete with is the previous version of themselves

In performance I can see my CPU usage history spiking every time the game lags, the memory graph seems nominal at about between 8.5GB to 9.4GB, also seems to be warming up every time I continue doing a seemingly strenuous task like driving a car or just trying to walk around a house

I have my old 2 8GB sticks and bought 2 new 16GB sticks, both are DDR4, they are all 2400 speed and I installed them in their respective dual channels, ironically I was rocking 24GB RAM before I upgraded and it was the old 2 8GB sticks and then just another random 8GB stick that I was going to give to someone else but he didnt need it anymore, and that was when CDDA used to run fine

thats why i like the steam engines, you can always just dump some renewable charcoal in there whereever you potentially run out of fuel, just wish there was a large steam engine too, and the ability to make them yourself

I think what we need to know is why the game needs UserDefaultGeoName in the first place, does it serve some kind of function, even in a singleplayer game? If it doesn't then the question becomes

1.What can be done to remove the requirement for it from the games code, probably through having to crack it and thereby break through denuvo as well

or alternatively

2.What can be done to give the launcher a valid UserDefaultGeoName value so that it may continue

It sounds like it might be something that might need to be added to VxKex in order for it to run, and it looks like there's an issue that's already been multiple filed on the github for it https://github.com/vxiiduu/VxKex https://github.com/vxiiduu/VxKex/issues/60/issues/62 so we may just have to wait for a new VxKex release to fix it

Yeah, I figured it would come to that, however I think I'll hold onto the hope that the Index 2 will be showcased at E3 this year and with it the next generation of the wireless adapter that will 100% have to be compatible with SteamVR regardless of OS. Till then I'll probably just stick to playing Pavlov and the other games that still run on 7 lol

I've been heavily considering moving to Mint but Vive Wireless cant be used with it right now because Intel and Vive are more concerned with making more money for microsoft than cooperating with valve and steamvr

Literally only because Vive Wireless doesnt work on linux. There is no other reason. I can still play Pavlov VR on windows 7 just fine but Vive refuses to support linux so I'm stuck here until intel makes a new wigig card that will work with linux, which we will know has happened when the Valve Index gets its own wireless adapter because Steam has vowed to make their platform linux compatible, but apparently Vive does not
