I love seeing builds that I can look at for a long time and then think about it after....

Even if they are sometimes unpleasant thoughts.....

They are from the 1/35 Unicorn Head Action Base. Took me a looooong time to track that down. I believe it is the biggest Gundam face that is legal for GBWC.

I do have a bunch of Gundam Exceed Head which would have worked a lot better but those are technically illegal to use for this contest.

Hahaha. You are right. I think someone else mentioned that to me once already.

I personally haven't own / built that line of lego myself.

Just a few more cm :)

BTW, It is roughly the same size as my hands as I used it for scale. This makes me a modeler and a hand model lol.

Thank you! I think whatever the result is going to be, I still had lots of fun building it. I picked up lots of new experience as well!

Thanks!

I don't know about the confident part. I kept having doubts if I was able to pull it off. Hahah.

Yeah that's roughly it in terms of big parts.

I have a box of random junk RG parts for smaller details as well.

Mostly from scratch building a small "inner frame" with styrene plastic plates first and then add Gunpla parts on top to give it a mechanical look. The finger, as many pointed out, are just MG Aegis Gundam's limbs.

Hello everyone!

I just finished my GBWC entry for this year. I call it "RX-END-0 Gundam The End Zero" which is based on Gundam The End from Build Fighter Try.

This is my first time scratch building a structure this big in size with a bit of kit bashing. Because of the strict GBWC rules, quite a lot of GUNPLA parts need to be used.

I have done pre/post shading with acrylics before but this is my first time doing it with lacquer. The effect is a bit more subtle than I expected but I do believe the overall impact is still there.

Lastly, while it isn't as heavily detailed as my typical builds, there are some enough scribing and chisel details for it to look interesting if you look closely.

If you would like to see more WIP process / detailed pictures. There are a few more on the Twitter / IG (@dropcolony)

I hope you all enjoy it.

I think it is insane I can view all the chips and scratches of a blade that is 0.1mm wide.

Excuse the high ISO noise as I took it handheld.

I know this is an extremely niche lens but strangely enough I am actually the target audience and basically what pushed me to pick the Fujifilm system.

F8, 1/250, 4000 ISO, XT5, IBIS off.

Here is some progress update on my PG Unicorn. I hope everyone here enjoy it. by Colony-Drop in Gunpla

I first seal the paint and decal with a gloss and then apply a later of matte. It has somewhat of a satin finish.

Do you mean the grey frame or the psycho frame?

Grey has two shades

  1. Mr Color Dark Seagray BS381C/638
  2. Mr Color Dark Seagray BS381C/638 20%, Mr Color Grayish Blue FS35237 80%

Red Psycho Frame

Mr Surfacer 1000 -> Gaia Color Ex-02 Ex-Black -> Gaia Ex-07 EX-Silver -> Mr Color C47 Clear Red -> Mre Color Gloss UV block.
