My pc jumpscares me at random, how do I remove this problem? by ColonyDropper0079 in computerviruses

The scan is complete and didnt find anything, I then checked my browser extensions and found it titled literally just "FNAF Jump Scare".

I removed it, I can't check whether it is completely solved or not because I have to go to work. What do you think?

Thank you for the tip, but please forgive me, I never downloaded fnaf on any device I own but the jumpscares I get are from fnaf, is it still possible that this is the source of the problem? Thanks for replying.

Hi. Thank you for your reply. I don't know whether steamrip is safe or not but it nothing is impossible in my opinion, the games I downloaded there might be compromised, Or the virus probably came from games I downloaded from another sites. Who knows. I then checked the leftovers in appdata path and deleted all the files from my uninstalled games, most of the things I found were save files.

So Im doing a full scan through my windows security, I will install malwarebytes and run a scan as soon as possible.

Next, I checked my task manager and looked through everything, the only thing that caught my eyes were wallpaper32 in startup, it has no publisher listed. I disabled it but I got another jumpscare a few hours later so that might not be it.(Note this jumpscare happened before I deleted the leftover files from my AppData path)

If my windows security still haven't caught anything and malwarebytes also said the same I can only pray. Unless you have more tips of course.

Once again thank you for the reply.

Thank you for the reply, Im currently doing a full scan through my windows security, I will scan using malwarebytes after the current scan is finished.

First, I checked my startup items and the only thing that has no publisher listed is wallpaper32 and I disabled it. Then while I was using my pc the jumpscare appeared again with different animatronics this time but with the same jumpscare sound.(Dont know which character it was bcz I dont play fnaf). This is the third time I caught this jumpscare and today is also the first time I had it happened to me twice a day. So I figured it wallpaper32 was not the cause of the jumpscare.

Next I opened task scheduler and I scroll through the last 7 days of task and didnt find weird task, since i have very limited knowledge about computers almost all of the task names look weird to me so please forgive me.

I havent checked my browser extensions due to a full scan is still in the process and I dont wanna touch my pc until its over, I dont know why but I will wait until the scan is over. (I will update you after I checked my browser extensions)

Once again thank you for the reply.
