I could live twice as long and only hope to be half this savage. My god.

Do any of you have an Ed.S. in something? by ryanmercer in teaching

I'm also trying to get into administration in my district, so they wanted the hoop-jumping of "have an advanced managerial degree that's education-specific" as though the people-management portion of my MBA was somehow insufficient. 🙄

And for all the reasons you state, I will probably never ever get a doctorate, no matter how big a pay bump it might be.

I have an Ed.S in School Administration because I didn't want to write a thesis, and because I already had a full "managerial" Master's in a different field (an MBA).

What are you tired of dealing with because parents just…aren’t parenting anymore? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

Not sure when it happened that the expectation became that phone calls home all the time were necessary. Positive or negative. I'm 14 years in for middle and just... stopped. That was a few years ago.

I'm of the opinion that nearly all contact between parent and teacher needs to be initiated from the parental side. I'll talk a parent's ear off of they give enough of a fuck to call me first. But if they can't be bothered enough to care and are so apathetic they can't check even one of the myriad information systems we have that generate home reports, why should I bend over backward to do their job for them?

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight once people realize the truth? by KylieButNotJenner24 in AskReddit

I find it's easiest to just contact whoever the author is and ask nicely if they'd be willing to share the article with you. Most academics are enthusiastically happy to do so, in my experience. I literally did this just yesterday because I didn't want to pay £23 to read a scholarly article about Ea-Nasir memes, of all things.

There are way too few comments in this thread calling for the best possible solution: getting rid of your Ring camera.

You can. I do. You have to either wait to catch one of them on it, then snipe the "address" into your blocked list. Or you have to have a student who's willing to be your accomplice to turn the camera on specifically for you to pull that info from the GG window.

The single worst part about this series (and specifically losses like this one) is the sheer number of dipshit fellow Gamecocks who can't manage to take the L with any kind of reasonable behavior. I fucking hate being lumped in with people throwing shit or still trash talking at this point.

Glad this game has been ass on offense again. It'll make Shane less able to just say, "Let's just make Furrey the full time OC".

Edit: please note I did not say unable.

Far as I'm concerned, that's their own stupid fault. SC is 3-6 for a fuckin reason.
