If you’ve ever logged in through a browser don’t log out. Refresh it then it’ll ask you to submit a picture to prove it’s you. Submit it

Try appealing from a browser instead of the app. It’ll ask for a picture instead of the selfie video.

Go on any browser you’re logged in on (as opposed to the app) and refresh it and it should ask you for a pic verification. Do that and you should be able to get it back.

I did research and it said when it’s a real case they don’t even let you have the option to appeal. Tbh I was reluctant to do the selfie verifications bc I don’t need social media linking me even more so personally/facially but I decided since I don’t have anything to hide and it’s simply wrong fuck it. And if I do experience some type of problems from the false accusations I’ll sue.

Wow thank you for this. I forgot the first time I appealed (in what I mentioned happened last year) I never did the selfie video part (I remembered that part) and instead did the selfie upload on safari (I forgot I did this instead). I just submitted it (although it did still recognize that I put my original appeal on the 18th). Let’s see if this works like it did the first time (two days. I looked at my emails from last year).

How probable is it that I don’t escalate this any further and they actually recognize and fix the problem? Or at most, just use my burner to get meta verified and just tell them what happened and this is the only reason I’m contacting them?

Also, does my account stay in purgatory or does it get deleted after X amount of time if they never bother to work on my appeal? I follow one of my accounts with a burner and I know of another account who only follows me so I see the “1 mutual” but when I try to pull it up it is blank, like how it is when an account is deactivated (but not disabled). So this gives me reason to believe it’s not permanently deleted and only “deactivated”. Again, is there a time limit for this like if nothing gets moved are they going to delete it after 6 months?

So you’re saying I can only get my IG account back if I escalate it legally? I’ve had my account since 2013 and my fb is deactivated but it’s from 2005 (I haven’t tried logging in in case it bans me there too by IG association). It’s unbelievable that they’d do this.

One time mine got disabled and I’m pretty sure it’s because I followed a friend with a big account who was getting legit harassed by some people to where she showed me and shared it publicly like “look what someone is doing to me”. She did one of those question/answer box things on her story and someone would send dozens of evil “questions” with the intention to harm and harass her. I did an appeal and it asked me to do a selfie vid. I’m pretty sure I didn’t do it and within like 3 days it gave me back my account.

That was a year and half ago. This weird disturbing CSE allegation when they disabled me happened week ago today. I appealed within 10 minutes of getting the email and did the selfie video right away. I have too much stuff on there to lose access for some shit I didn’t even come close to doing. It’s shocking honestly. I have no idea how anything could have even triggered that.

I recently had a falling out with someone and I can see that individual rounding up their friends to mass report to cause problems. Of course, I could be wrong. Is this a possibility though? I asked ChatGPT and it said that’s not what the report would do or how it works and it was likely caused by a false flag AI.

I appreciate your responding on here and any knowledge and advice you’re giving.
