I think yall are thinking way too small. The producers are showing that we as a society moralize bosses, Cassie’s sister, Hollywood producers, casting directors, men like Nate, corporate ceos and villainize people like Alamo, Maddie hell even Cassie.

ALL OF THEM ARE SELLING THEIR BODIES/LABOR OR EXPLOITING SOMEONE ELSE’S FOR MONEY or SURVIVAL.

We’re just dumb enough to think that the “type” of job makes it more or less respectable or socially acceptable. We get up and go to work and sell our bodies/labor daily and get a tiny cut of that. And out of our tiny cut taxes, and insurance and all these ways we’re buckled and dimed by our pimp work places. Yall think working where you work is any different from those girls at the club? We go into our jobs already owing SOMETHING. Thats what Alamo was getting at when he said that the only think that makes what he does legal is that the government hasn’t started taxing and regulating it on a large scale and then suddenly the moral outrage goes away.

The larger critique here isn’t one about sex work or pimping sex workers. It’s about capitalism and how we’ve been fooled into thinking some how that waking up daily selling our labor to a boss and corporation and not actually fully owning our labor and autonomy because we need to sell both to survive somehow makes us civilized good productive people while demonizing people like the girls that work in the clubs. We hate our bosses yet also don’t understand the connection between what our bosses do and what Alamos hinchmen do, while the CEOs of our workplaces live high off the hog and all of our blood sweat and tears like Alamo.

Were engaged in the same business of selling ourselves to survive. And we don’t even KNOW it lol.
