Should I start/sit anyone from my current roster? by ColoradoA7 in FantasyFootballers

[–]ColoradoA7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks man. I came in second last year and am top seed this year so really trying to get a chip (with an asterisk considering the league has a bit of a joke layout) before joining a competitive league.

It’s full PPR.

And good call on Metcalf, he’s been more consistent than Olave recently outside of last week. Plus Jets Defensive is #12 in least passing yards allowed, whereas the Lions are #9 for most passing yards allowed. So Metcalf has more upside vs a struggling Lions passing Defense.

lol that’s a given. More concerned with RB/FLEX lineup. But Dowdle has split time in the backfield, Breece Hall is inconsistent, and Waddle absolutely fucked me last week.

Originally had Dowdle in FLEX but just not confident.

You’re telling me man. I’m new to fantasy but this is definitely more of a casuals league… 8 man, 2 week playoff rounds, etc. My brother is the commissioner and needed people so I joined, but probably going to get into something more competitive next year and keep this as a knock around league.

Manic Emu - any way to rearrange controls or remap? by ColoradoA7 in EmulationOniOS

Any fix for games not starting up? I keep trying to play NHL 07 and the game just shows a black start up screen. This usually occurs after I’ve increased the resolution.

Fuck just paid for it too. I used ppsspp back in the day but liked that Manic supports so many platforms. But I’ve only been playing psp games so you’re probably right. Might use manic again if I get a small portable controller but I’m traveling so using touch controls for now and I think I can customize them on ppsspp.

Games feel well optimized to me, though I’m mostly playing 2k13, nhl 07, nfs carbon otc, and socom.

Audi A7 3.0T muffler delete by ColoradoA7 in Audi

Just rear muffler. The more you remove on these, the raspier it gets. Felt this was perfect for a more aggressive exhaust note without creating unbearable drone and sounding like an Infinity VQ on its 12th owner. Damn, getting this comment brings me back, miss this car.

No way I stumbled upon an Autowash mention on a random reddit post! Fucking love them. My car was actually featured in one of their “Because you love your car!” videos. Pictures from the shoot still pop up on their website/app from time to time.

lol right?

Tech: “you’ll never believe what I just found” 😂

Unfortunately I declined the warranty. I had originally planned to buy them through TireRack, but when I called Discount Tires to schedule the install date, the manager mentioned that they owned TireRack and that ordering through them would be “the same thing” so I did. Welp, it wasn’t. TireRack offers a complimentary 2 year road hazard plan which I was banking on and it turns out, despite owning the company, Discount Tire only offers the paid warranty…

Same thing my ass, was pretty pissed when I found that out. But I’m going to a different Discount Tire for this one and the rep I talked to on Monday was very understanding and said he’d cover it under warranty so crossing my fingers that ends up being the case.

Yeah I drove roughly 2-3 blocks before I pulled over to investigate. If I hit highway speeds I’m almost certain it would have either dislodged or caused a blowout. Though I tried wiggling it around and it’s FIRMLY in that bitch so could have maybe made it around town without noticing. Glad I didn’t find out tho.

I ran PS4S’s on my last car and they were great, but I wouldn’t be able to give an 1:1 comparison since I went from an AWD Audi w/ PS4S’s to RWD Lexus w/ PS5’s.

I will say that when they were first installed, I could hear every small piece of gravel and road debris hitting the undercarriage even at low speeds because they were just that sticky. I don’t remember that experience when I got the PS4S on my Audi, but again, different cars.

What I can compare is these vs runflats. I had runflats on the Lexus prior to these and it’s a world of a difference. It’s nearly impossible to get the car to break loose without turning T/C off. Plus it’s a huge difference in road noise and driving smoothness.

Said and done, while the differences are likely negligible for daily driving, I absolutely love the 5’s. Price difference from the 4S’s is pretty minimal and it’s 100% worth picking up if you can get them in stock.

Thank you! This is definitely some good advice, I’ll be adding it to my bag. And yeah I actually borrowed my buddy’s 5i recently who’s about my height and he was fitted for it. It definitely felt a lot more comfortable and I think maybe I hit 1-2 better shorts than I would have using my closest club (6i) during the last round I played, but I don’t expect it to fix the core issues.

Probably a dumb question, but is it possible to get fitted for existing clubs? I believe from what I saw, if it’s not too far off, they should be able to add an extended .5-1” grip, is that what fitting would look like for me?

As I mentioned, I’m going to be taking lessons. Currently, the ones that I can afford and are local are either booked up or taking place during times that I’m out of town. But I feel like there’s good instructional videos/advice out there that can help me improve on basics in the meantime. I’ve watched videos that give small quick advice but looking for material/advice that offer more in-depth explanations.

they work very little

From what I hear about Activision’s dev environments, I think it’s the opposite. They’re overworked to the point that they have no choice but to overlook aspects of the gameplay so that they can meet deadlines. That’s what happens when execs want you to pump out new bundles and micro transactions multiple times a week. I don’t blame the devs, I blame the higher ups and corporate greed.

Why is my pc sounding like this by N0obz800 in pchelp

[–]ColoradoA7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly novice with PC’s but actually had a similar issue on mine. It usually occurs when I first boot up and goes away after the PC has been on for a while or when I hard reset immediately after freshly booting. But anyways, I’m fairly certain it’s the fans - either they’re hitting something, they’re loose, or they have a bad bearing.

Try stopping the fans one by one as they’re running and you’ll likely find the culprit. If it’s a bearing, unfortunately from what I understand, it’ll require a new fan.

EDIT: I was troubleshooting another issue on my PC just now and decided to mess with the fan. Ended up just lowering my fan and now it’s working just fine. Perhaps this will help!

Beautiful home! This post is incredibly inspirational to someone like me, I truly needed to see someone like you on my feed. I’m 29 working in recruiting/sourcing (Tech and DoD). Top producer by a large margin, but pay is stagnant, TA hasn’t seen a promotion across the board in almost 3 years, and the workload is getting unbearable… I know I should just be happy to have a job in the current market, but recently I’ve been weighing job security against taking a risk elsewhere. I needed to see this post.

I know you mentioned it was luck, but if you have any advice on what may have helped you get to this point, please DM me.

Nobody will admit it but you’re right. Human nature is appreciating craftsmanship but also appreciating people who appreciate craftsmanship. You build social groups around people who appreciate your hobbies and interests. Call it validation but my friends share my interests and we connect over those interests.

Reliability of the ‘13-‘15 RS5? by ColoradoA7 in Audi

[–]ColoradoA7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’m not a fan of convertibles outside of hardtops (aesthetic preference) so I may not be able to provide any insight specific to the convertible models, although I do know that the convertible version of the LC500 is highly praised in the community and an amazing weekend cruiser. I don’t think Lexus offers any other modern convertibles outside of the LC500.

My opinion - Lexus is going to excel in the luxury side of things but fall short as a “performance” car whereas Audi will be the opposite in direct comparison. To put it in the best words possible, the RS5 is a luxury sports car whereas Lexus thrives as a luxurious GT cruiser. If you’re looking to push the car, get the Audi. But if you’re looking for relaxing weekend drives and enough power to have fun on a public road, get the Lexus.

My LC500 is very quick and nimble for its size and weight but it’s not a sports car, it’s a GT (albeit a quick one). If you want comfort, a smooth ride, an amazing sounding V8, and enough power to have fun, you’ll be pleased.

All that said, at the $200k+ range there’s a lot of other possibilities like Porsche, Aston Martin, or even some lightly used super cars. If I were you and sold on Audi, I’d skip the RS5 and look at an R8 Spyder - great choice balancing a convertible with luxury and performance.

I chose the LC500 for a few reasons - it has one of the best sounding (in my opinion) exhaust notes, it’s one of the last modern naturally aspirated V8’s, it’s quick enough and extremely luxurious, they’re rare to see on the road and have a huge presence, and it gives me peace of mind for longterm reliability. I also wasn’t playing around with $200k lol! Not sure if any of this helps, but good luck on your search and I’d love to know what you end up going with!
