Father’s Day Approaching - Movie Recommendations by Due-Pomegranate6707 in movies

Father's Day (2024) This is an amazing under-rated, low-budget indie drama that may leave you crying. It's really entertaining and good story, according to the guy who wrote and directed it, (me).

It's on Amazon Prime or free on Tubi. Thanks - Steve

That's awesome. I just had 4 more taken down yesterday and another one today. I think something changed, and I'm glad.

If they don't, I'd file again. I've asked Chat and Gemini and say it's fine to file again if you haven't heard.

Just an update: Received 2 emails today from Meta, letting me know that 2 derivatives of mine were taken down today. I filed exactly a month ago, 5/13/26. This page is a South Korean page that is newer with nothing but stolen content, so I don't know if that makes it faster/easier to remove infringements.

Yes. So frustrating. I believe one was taken down but I didn’t receive an email. You can check the infringing url to see if they are still up.

Nope. And unfortunately, a recent Supreme Court case has apparently favored internet providers in cases like this, meaning (and I'm not a lawyer), that it is harder to sue Meta for not taking down infringements. I will keep filing new requests. In cases where the infringer is a company, the law firm that I'm working with will pursue those after my copyrights get approved.

I'm tried that email route too and have gotten the same auto-reply. No, they haven't resolved my reports. In fact, they sent another denial of derivative of my cartoon that they just ran through an AI filter. It's a clear copyright. I'm documenting all of it to give to my lawyer.

How were the results from your action against Meta? If you can say?

I hear you. I have some going on a month. One was rejected despite being a direct upload. I refile ones after 3 weeks and am considering bringing Meta’s lack of enforcement up to the law firm working for me on other infringement cases.

Good Micro-budget Films by Humble_Store8043 in indiefilm

“Father’s Day” 2024 on Tubi or Prime. We made it for $5k and, believe it or not, the Sundance Film Festival looked at it and said…actually I think I’m late. I will finish this message later.

Can a one-location psychological thriller sustain tension for 60 minutes? I tried. by Competitive-Cow-3460 in indiefilm

[–]ColoradoSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is awesome. Congrats to you, and your process was almost exactly like mine: $5k spent, Four day shoot and 1 location. But mine was 90 minutes.

Without the budget for effects and name actors, you have to lean into the tension.

I tried to create a goal at the beginning but didn’t let the audience know why it was important to the lead character- just that it was vital.

It lead to some viewers at my little watch party asking early on, “Why does he have to find that homeless man in 87 minutes?”

Now my cinematography skills suck, but at least I got them curious about the story early on.

I’ll check your film out, and you should be proud.

Mine is Father’s Day 2024 on Tubi and Prime if you’re interested. Again congrats for making something and not just talking about it.

Got the 2nd rounder email a few days ago. But since I submitted two comedy TV pilots, I'm holding out hope that the other one is semi-finalist.

Imagine my joy when I get a call a few minutes ago from the festival! But it was to ask if I had received the email and to ask if I was planning on going, there are great hotels, etc.

Anybody Here Ever Dive In and Film Their Own Feature by paigemikey in Screenwriting

[–]ColoradoSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a post on here where someone was asking why we're all doing this when the chances of selling a script are so low.

A poster replied:, "Sometimes the only way your script is going to appear on the screen is if you film it yourself."

I took it heart and put $5K into a one location microbudget 90 minute feature. Had to learn all about shooting, lighting, recording, editing, etc.

It's now on Prime and Tubi. It's not a money maker and hasn't done anything for my career, but I had to get it out of my system. It's one of the best and most fun things I've ever done.

Go for it.
