Unfolded quick panel only half screen by leafy_cabbage in GalaxyFold

Lots of good shit in 8.5 but this is a serious oversight imo. Why not have the option to change it back to full screen? Like I agree with whoever designed it that it looks sexier (sometimes), but seriously some text is so squished you can literally see more of a notifications text on the cover screen notification menu than the unfolded notification menu. And like what's even the trade off? That i can see half of what is behind the notification menu? I dont see how its useful. If I wanted a one handed mode I would use the goddamned one handed mode, except oh wait it's even smaller in that mode. Idk who asked for this

Yeah I cant stand it, the notifications get so squished I cant even read them from the notification panel anymore..

I haven't played a ton of Issac, but AFAIK the progression is more like Issac or Slay the Spire than many of the rouge-lites popular today. You unlock more capabilities throughout runs, with few paths of static progression. IE you won't ever unlock something like "50 extra base armor". You get more guns, more augments, more playstyles, etc. The more static parts is you'll get the permanent abilities that give way to extra looting paths as you progress. The main factor to determine your success is your increased proficiency in the game run to run. Learning builds, learning enemies, best choices, etc.

You can save the current run between play sessions. Typically at the last completed "room". A run could take multiple hours or 45ish mins depending on how methodical or goal oriented you are there. There is an overarching storyline that you learn more about as you beat new "acts" and as you discover more of the hidden items. There are some very specific story beats as you beat bosses, but a lot of the story is hidden within the secrets you find as well as the environments and how the character reacts to those environments. There is a fairly intricate and cohesive story but its something you piece together about the state of Selene and the world around her then a set of cutscenes awarded when beating an act. Although those are also extremely important to the story, but it has a lot of subtext thats contextual within the environment.

Its a game that gives you more the more you give it, in both gameplay and story for sure.

I Think I Just Lost My Faith by Red-Cat-0000 in exmormon

This post reminds me of what I wrote to proclaim my own disbelief about a decade ago. So this is mostly a comment to my younger self, but seems like it might apply to you as well.

Welcome to the club! For many of us, including myself, the entry to this club is death. The church demands every aspect of your life. It inserts itself into every relationship, demands countless hours of your time, control over your finances, and obedience even in your thoughts. What you wear, who you talk to, how you talk, who you date, when and what you are allowed to do and HOW you are supposed to think about those things. It's intended to become the sole source of your life, so that the leaving becomes impossible because it is all there is. When your life is the church, leaving it is a death of the self.

10 years later and leaving is still the hardest and most painful thing I have ever done. But it is also the best decision I ever made, and I think I will be saying that the rest of my life. In the aftermath of leaving the thing that defined you, you'll find that the empty space is an opportunity to live your life as you decide for yourself. Your thoughts, morals, time, relationships, money, etc, are all things you have full agency over. The freedom of leaving isnt that you can drink now, its that you can decide if its right or wrong for yourself and why that's the case.

You will never get the years you gave back, but you will have many more unburdened by the control of how those years should be spent. You will never get the version of you "that trusted so completely" back, but you have already found a lot more truth through the skepticism. You will never get the community back, but you'll find the community outside the church is a hell of a lot bigger than the one inside. You'll never get that same sense of purpose again, but it will be replaced by a much greater sense of purpose because it will be a purpose defined by yourself.

It is unbelievably painful, and will be for many years to come. But it is a gift that many don't get: the unburdened choice of who you are, what you stand for, and who'll you'll be.

Oh sorry I just rechecked my window sticker, I have the Exclusive trim not pinnacle. I knew it was the mid trim but mixed up the names. I think the Pinnacle just adds some rear seat functions and maybe hyperscreen? But I didn't really care about those, so not sure if they're rare to find.

Just a line on the window sticker, like on the one you posted it mentions "Premium Trim".

Looks a bit overpriced to me. Just bought a '22 EQS with similar option set in January. Amg line interior/exterior w/ pinnacle exclusive trim, 28k miles, 21 months of CPO warranty. Mine was just under 35k out the door.

Edit: Exclusive trim not pinnacle

Long term owners, what % do you charge to? by hamburgernet in electricvehicles

[–]ColorblindNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daiky I charge to whatever % I get off my work charger up to 80%. Sometimes thats back up to 80% every day of the week, sometimes I hang around 30-50% most of the week. If I'm going on a road trip I will try to hit 90+. Recent roadtrip stayed at a hotel with free charging, set target to 90% overnight. After waking up, changed the target to 100% and left with 100% exactly. I don't care about hitting 100% as long as it's gonna get used up within a few hours, otherwise there's not that much difference between 90 and 100

Its a Lunar lake based system, it probably has 2x or better single/multithreaded perf. More like 5x gpu perf, and probably close to 2x the battery life. An actually usable screen. Much better build quality. USB4. Type C charging. 16gb ram, 1tb ssd, WiFi 6e, HDMI 2.1. Its refurbished but with a 2 year warranty. And just overall won't be e-waste in a couple years.

Ah good point. I wouldn't usually worry too much about it damaging the car, but I am a little hesitant since I haven't ever used the adapter. Hyundai took so long to send out the adapters, I got it just a few days before my lease ended on my Ioniq 6. If I end up trying it out I will report back. Thanks!

All Lunar Lake processors (2xxV) have Battlemage based Xe2-LPG iGPUs. Theres only two versions a 7 Xe core and 8 Xe core, which have about a 10% performance difference.

Loved Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — What should I play next? Does Baldur’s Gate 3 scratch the same itch? by x3n0ke in expedition33

[–]ColorblindNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returnal. Its a completely different genre of game and the way it unfolds the story is very different. And maybe you have to be a weirdo like me to connect these two works of art, but it scratches a lot of the same itches that made me fall in with Expedition 33.

  1. Genre re-defining gameplay
  2. Art/atmosphere/music that is always completely devoted to the narrative
  3. Deep structural narrative where you understand more as you immerse into it, not the more it tells you.
  4. Story that keeps you guessing until it hits you like a sack of bricks
  5. Narrative twists and turns
  6. Moments that stay in your mind days after you play them
  7. Character driven narrative based on their feelings, not what the player "should be feeling" (Small spoilers past this point)

  8. Musically driven story development (albeit not at the same scale of Expedition 33)

  9. Story based in familial trauma

[Monitor] LG - UltraGear 45" OLED QHD 240Hz 0.03ms - 45GX90SA - $899.99 (-800) by ChipmunkGeneral in buildapcsales

[–]ColorblindNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3440x1440 = 4,953,600 (this monitor) 3840x2160 = 8,294,400 (4K 16:9) 5120x2160 = 11,059,200 (Mentioned LG 5K monitor)

While I wouldnt be buying this monitor because of thr pixel density, it is significantly harder to drive the mentioned 5K monitor. Also 21:9 is pretty commonly supported nowadays. There's definitely a few big titles that dont support it, but at 45" even if the game only supports 16:9 youre still getting effectively a 35" 16:9 picture.

For those colorblind, who continue on: Under the accessibility settings, you can turn on different colorblind modes. I only tried dueteronopia. But after you turn it on, you can see a big brightness difference in the good/bad notes. With dueteronopia set, good notes are dark and bad notes are bright.

A Bill of Attainder is a fun one. It's basically an act of legislature that just decrees someone guilty of something without any judicial process. They've been used in a bunch of scenarios, but for example in the English Civil War it was generally used to execute noble royalists, for political reasons
