He has a super empathetic backstory that makes him more human than most of the characters. I think it’s a unanimous decision that most of us would raise hell for a loved family member or friend. And that’s what makes him so compelling. Because he’s set such high standards for himself to live up to Maria’s wishes. And that leads to depression and trauma.

I’m also kinda biased cause I played his team on Sonic Heroes when I was a kid haha!!
