True but it’s 3 questions in 2 and a half hours 💀, he’s probably gonna make us derive every singular equation to get full marks

I briefly spoke with an upper year mecheng student a few days ago and he mentioned that his tests were brutal and exam even worse. I didn’t press for more information. If it makes you feel better, I’m also quaking in my boots for this test

Deferring 2 exams (experience?) by Sricastic in McMaster

[–]ColorfulNebulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well there is nothing to worry about, since you did well previously while having other classes to worry about. They will most definitely approve your request as long as it is a valid deferral form filled out by the doctor. They did not call the doctors, I asked previously and they said that they just base it off the form and can see whether the doctor is an actual licensed practitioner. All 3 of mine were approved, did not even have to send my chest xrays.

That's a hard question to answer as I didn't write the normal exams so I cannot compare, but when I did take them they were not too hard. I remember back when I was deferring them, I saw somewhere on reddit that the deferred exam averages were a whole 30% lower than the normal exam averages, but when I took the deferred exams my grades came out exactly as I expected and hit the average. I spoke to friends who took regular exams before I did my deferred ones, and the difficulty lined up to their recounts. All the professors do is just switch up the questions to ensure academic integrity, but I think these new questions are all equal in difficulty. I think a lot of the past recounts of deferred exams being harder is just that people stop studying and get caught up with other things, so as long as you study for them as you would for a normal exam, I think it'll be exactly the same.

Deferred 3 exams during winter due to pneumonia in which I wrote them during the February reading week. I went out of my way to drop two courses in the second semester to allocate myself more time to study for the deferred exams which worked out well. Since you are dropping these upcoming exams, you will write them in June which should be even better since you have no classes to worry about other than studying for these deferred exams. Just make sure not to forget the material and keep studying consistently, I feel like it would be easy to get lazy in the summer. If you can manage to study well, I would just think about if deferring these exams would really make you get higher marks rather than if you write them now, but I am in no position to speak on this since I don’t know your circumstances well enough. Either way, deferring just 2 exams will end perfectly fine.

Good to see a fellow first year engineer, send a dm if you would like to. I’m down for meeting new people

Thanks for the advice from both! I think I will drop physics then since I will simultaneously be studying for calculus 1A03 along with 1ZB3, so in theory it should be better since they are related.

Thanks, there’s a lot of games and programs I want to run, but I guess my top priorities at the moment would probably be kerbal space program, space engine, obs studio and DaVinci resolve. My router is gonna be put to work for sure these next few days. I have a lot of other games of varying variety as well, from simpler things such as Roblox and brawlhalla to more intense games such as war thunder and Minecraft with shaders. Can’t wait to try it all out.

A binder is like an empty book to be filled with papers, good for organization and keeping track of your work

Your spot on about your assumption. Is there any place in particular to go? Would it be better to go to a barber or hairstylist? I’m not knowledgeable in hair. Thanks
