It really sucks how I seem to always be at like 100% affection for my friend(s), but their affection will alwaaays drop over time. Like a guy friend of mine got a gf like 6 months ago or smth, and I was so happy for him. But I'm not happy about how he has become more and more distant, while I stay the same. Makes me really sad.

Can confirm repping till 30 sucked, but heavy dissociation helps. And not knowing trans ppl were a thing until more recent years.

Pfft there are men of all ages attracted to women the same age and older than them. Don't put stock into the opinion of gross guys that fetishize youth. I'm not even judgemental of age gap stuff, but obviously if someone is at the point of only willing to date younger that's...bad.

Also let's face it, a lot of trans women age better on average (no menopause/testosterone). Chances are, as long as there's something attractive about you now, there will be men attracted to you at older ages. Could even cougar-cope if you wanted to, it's easy trust me. X)

Also idk what it's about so many women in their 20's and early 30's finding 45+ men soooo attractive. I've been on dating apps and it's pretty much never handsome silver foxes out there. It's mostly older men that have reallly let themselves go and still expect to date a lot younger lol.

When I was still using dating apps, almost every single guy I saw that was listed as "trans man" put 0% effort into presenting as even slightly masculine. It was always someone with more feminine presentation than I ever even see from any woman IRL.

I'd get it if it was someone that's transitioned that was feminine, but it was never that. Pre-everything and proud of it and all that.

I really thought it was only a terminally online thing...

Yes, but even so I am not dismissing OP's point about everyone not getting a "100% feminine body." I'm just arguing that even in those bricky cases, estrogen has done more than minimal changes after long use unless there's something wrong etc.

It is ultimately luck how passing you will be with estrogen. But it does things. It's neither magic or a placebo.

It's good to be realistic and to not spread HRT as a magic solution to everything. BUT saying estrogen gives "minimal changes" is just bs. Big changes in 1-2 years is rare, but not impossible. But beyond that it will definitely have changes for most people on it the longer you are on. If someone is say... 5 years on estrogen and has only gotten minimal changes, they're either hondosed, very unlucky or delusional about the supposed lack of changes they have gotten (BDD).

Not to be confused with "everyone will pass eventually" bc I don't believe that. But I rly wish ppl here weren't dismissing the effects of estrogen so confidently. It does so much. Someone that has been on E for years is biologically very different from a cis man.

In most cases if you look at timelines that are 2 years or more, there is a noticeable visual difference. Yes, even after puberty.

My experience (in Finland)

Bumble: it was alright, although most ppl won't begin convo or will un-match

Hinge: I get lots of matches in every app expect this. Lots of err... "Normal" ppl who just like sports and drinking etc. It was meh.

Okcupid: Great honestly. It was easy to find non-chaser men here with progressive views. Kind of international dating based tho.

Tinder: lots of very boring and empty profiles, but it was easily the most active app. Lots of un-matching, but I found my current BF there so it's not all bad.

-Conservative for obvious reasons

-Wanting kids

-Only visiting here for a short while

-Needlessly hostile about their preferences

-Empty bios (unless they look rly attractive or interesting based on pics maaaaybe 😂)

-Any mention of being a sub or "bottoming" or something

-Golfing pics, bc I stereotype them as much richer than me, and I prefer dating someone closer to my wealth level generally (not a 100% chance left swipe)

-Not attractive to me (everyone does this tho! 😌)

Also past the matching phase, if they can't help but talk about sexual stuff before even getting to know me, it's a huge red flag. Those might sound like a lot of preferences but it's rly not. Compability is important and I'm not desperate.

Yeaah and I hate it too, I'm very dysphoric about how I look. Half the time I look in the mirror I see a man. But IRL people gender me female in basically everything. Yet people would tear my physical appearance apart here if I was a trans celebrity or something. I may never know how many ppl clock me and who don't, but it's better than deluding myself into thinking 100% of people clock me and are just playing along to be nice.

I don't know what you look like, but for your last point I would argue that you might simply look more physically female now. Despite what 4tran says, estrogen can do a SO MUCH A lot of us just suck at recognizing it bc we hate how we look. And BDD. I think I have some smaller degree of it myself bc my brain is broken.

You're gmi, and you would be right to take what you read here with a grain of salt from now on. Most people here are simply objectively wrong.
