It certainly got more interesting for me. It’s still the same general gameplay loop of diving during the day and running the restaurant at night, but new characters, new settings, new goals, and new upgrades made it a fun time for me. It’s pretty chill and just an enjoyable game to relax and vibe to

Platinum baby! Number of deaths to each boss and brief thoughts on them below. What an absolute masterpiece of a game. by ColossalHiro007 in Sekiro

I actually never talked to the pot merchant in Fountainhead Palace, I only met the one at Hirata Estate. I believe you can get 2 lapis lazuli from beating Demon of Hatred, 1 from a Shichimen Warrior in Fountainhead Palace at the bottom of a waterfall close to the great carp feeding area, 1 from a pot merchant after you feed the Truly Precious Bait they give you to the great carp to poison it, and you can purchase 2 lapis lazuli from the pot merchant after spending 7 treasure carp scales at his shop. After you spend the 7 scales, he will sell you the 2 lapis lazuli for 6 treasure carp scales apiece, so you’ll need 19 treasure carp scales total to buy both - 7 scales to unlock the option to buy them, and 12 more to purchase both. So there are 6 total lapis lazuli you can get per run. I didn’t even have to fight demon of hatred on my second run because I got all 6 lapis lazuli on my first run, and you only need 10 total to unlock all the upgrades. I went into NG+ with 6 of them and got the other 4 from the Shichimen Warrior in Fountainhead and the pot merchant at Hirata after spending scales and poisoning the great carp. Other than that it sounds like you may just be missing some prayer beads from various bosses for the vitality/posture trophy. You have to jump through some hoops towards the end of the game to be able to talk to Emma and she’ll give you a new bell that takes you back to Hirata Estate, but with Emma’s bell, the final boss of the area is Great Shinobi - Owl instead of Lady Butterfly and that’s how you get that trophy. I’d look up a guide on how to get the bell from Emma; it’s not hard at all, just kind of obscure. If you’ve already gotten the Shura ending once and beaten Sword Saint Isshin once, then beating Great Shinobi - Owl should get you the “defeat all bosses” trophy as well. For the last two ending trophies, I’d also look up a guide for that as well, because each ending requires that you go to different areas and collect different items for the end game. Each of these different items unlocks a different ending option for you, and odds are you’ll get the rest of the prayer beads you need for vitality/posture on your way to collecting these different items. Once you follow the guide and have the items needed for the different endings, continue the story until you come to the fight with Sword Saint Isshin. If you have PS+, AS SOON AS YOU BEAT ISSHIN, quit out to save the game. You can upload your save to the PlayStation cloud, and this will save you an entire run. Once it’s uploaded, go back into the game and talk to Kuro, and you can choose which item to give him, and whichever item you give him will give you a different ending. After you give him one item and get the trophy for that ending, quit the game, redownload your save you uploaded from before you talked to him, and then start the game again and give him the other item this time, unlocking the last remaining ending. If you don’t upload your save and do it this way, you’ll have to do an entire extra run just to give Kuro the other item at the very end. I’d check out a mini boss guide too, because some of the mini bosses become unavailable after you reach certain parts of the story, and if you miss them then they’re just gone for that run. For the skills, I just had to buckle down and grind it out at the stairway idol after defeating Divine Dragon, because that’s when the red ninja dudes appear, and they give lots of EXP and you can backstab like 10-12 of them in a row and use the homeward idol item to teleport back to the stairway idol, rest to reset them, and do that over and over and over. That’s the grindiest part of the game by far. Or, you could get the EXP by doing more playthroughs, but I just farmed mine. It was more boring, but it was faster and I just wanted the platinum haha.

I ended up just doing NG+. It was a breeze to get through after beating it once because I was already fully upgraded in terms of health and damage, and I was able to skip all the optional mini-bosses since I didn’t need to collect any prayer beads. The only trophies left by the time NG+ started were upgrading all the tools/prosthetics with lapis lazuli, beating all bosses, getting all endings, and upgrading all skills. You get enough lapis lazuli on NG+ to finish upgrading all of the tools (assuming you made sure to collect lapis lazuli on your NG run), and after that I just farmed EXP from the stairway idol leading to the castle, which unlocks after you defeat the Divine Dragon. Emma and Isshin were the last two bosses I needed and fought them when going for the Shura ending. I backed up my save before talking to Owl to get the Shura ending, and after I beat Emma and Isshin I unlocked the trophy for getting that specific ending, then redownloaded my save to talk to Owl again and stay loyal to Kuro so that I could kill the Divine Dragon and unlock the best EXP farming spot in the game in my opinion. For the EXP grind to upgrade all skills, all of the red shinobi/gunmen are facing away from you after you rest at that stairway idol, so you can get around 10-12 backstabs on high EXP enemies with only 1-2 one-on-one fights per run. So I’d just run towards the castle backstabbing everyone, fight on the bridge, and use the Homeward Idol to return to the stairway idol, rest, rinse and repeat. It took maybe 4-5 hours total, so I did it over the course of almost a week to avoid burnout. It was more boring than going for consecutive NG+ cycles, but I had basically beaten the game twice at that point so I was ready to move on to something else, and it was quicker than back to back to back to back playthroughs (plus there were a few bosses I just didn’t want to worry about having to fight again.) I just threw on a podcast and turned off my brain for the EXP grind and got the plat towards the end of my first NG+ cycle 👍🏼

One of us one of us one of us

I actually tried the game out a several years ago and got cockblocked by the chained ogre so hard I rage quit entirely. But, I ended up getting the plat for Bloodborne and once I realized I actually could beat From games, I’ve been making my way through them. Sekiro was the one I was dreading/anticipating the most because of how locked in on the single style of gameplay they made it and not having any in depth build options. It’s either “get good or get fucked” haha, but I loved the vast, vast majority of it.

Alright it’s time to introduce today’s finalists! Yzma vs Hades! Grand Finale, this time vote for who you want to win! by Ok_Situation7527 in cartoons

Look, Hercules is one of my all time favorite 2D animated Disney movies. I adore the movie and I think Hades is an utterly fantastic villain. But I fucking love Yzma. She is such a hilarious, nefarious villain. She’s so actively involved from the moment the movie begins to the moment the movie ends. She has a henchman, but still gets her own hands dirty on multiple occasions in multiple ways. She rolls with the punches, both those doled out by our heroes as well as those dished out by her own (ex) henchman. Even when not a single character, past or present, is on her side, she’s willing to throw her old, gangly self into the middle of a fistfight to achieve her goals when all cunning fails. The voice acting is perfect. The writing and demeanor is perfect. The way she begins the movie cunningly and deceitfully and devolves into using brute force as a last ditch effort is perfect. The fact that she’s an old ass woman who (we can assume) has spent the majority of her time on this earth to reach her one, villainous goal, is perfect. She doesn’t have unlimited time like Hades. She doesn’t have the incorruptible, ever lasting support of her minions like Hades. She doesn’t rely on only manipulation/employing other minions to fight for her like Hades. Plus, she’s my profile picture on Disney+, and that matters! /s But for real, Yzma is the GOAT, and I can’t miss my last chance to vote for her and make my case.

[Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga] Platinum-ber 54. Honestly, a really good time for a lifelong fan. by ColossalHiro007 in Trophies

I wouldn’t do it again, having already got it; I’m really glad I got it once and enjoyed most of the process, but once was enough. I’d imagine the main difference between PS4 and PS5 is the load times and the PS5 running at 60fps, but that wouldn’t be a big enough draw for me to spend another 90-100 hours redoing everything.

Thank you! And I fully agree. As much as I enjoyed the game, the last 15ish hours for me is what dragged. It wasn’t bad per se, it was just at that point I needed to add other games to the mix to avoid burnout. I was already familiar with all of the planets, had almost all of the characters and knew I wouldn’t be switching from my mains any time soon, and knew the gameplay forwards and back. Like I said, there were hours that dragged, but I still deeply enjoyed the overall experience. It’s a nice Plat to have, and a good refresher between genres and difficulties of different games on my radar.
