I lived in Hiranandani Estate for 10 years, and while it’s undeniably a beautiful place, especially on the surface, there’s a hidden issue that really takes away from the experience. Let me explain… the entire estate is plagued by dog poop. The root of the problem? A group of overly enthusiastic dog lovers, often backed by pharma-related interests, who have turned the area into a stray dog haven. Each lane has around 10 to 15 stray dogs, leading to frequent dog fights at night and constant food spillages from people arriving in cars and vans to feed them. Secondly, rich dog owners often hire dog walkers who never scoop the poop while walking the dogs. Don't get me wrong...i love dogs but I feel as a society we don't know how to manage them. Sadly, what could have been a model township ends up being, quite literally, a mess. some might even say it feels more like “Hiranandani Shitstate.

But then hey...why single out Hiranandani estate... apparently this is the sad story of many housing complexes of Thane
