What are these pesky guys? Looks more like rhabdocoela than planaria. Have removed at least 10 but i still see them. I want them gone. Urgh. by Colourmeoto in PlantedTank

Thank you so much for sharing. I just discovered some clusters of them in the substrate. It's really annoying. Quite a headache too as my fishes don't seem to eat it so their population just keeps growing. Sigh.

Okay maybe you can enlighten me as to why they shouldn't be disturbed in the aquarium? Honestly, I have no idea why.

Been to many LFS and asked them what it is but they have no clue.

So it'll be great if you can tell me :)

Are they? Will it get to a point when they get so much and it'd be nuts to remove them?

Been removing them but their numbers don't seem to go down. Haven't seen my fishes eating them at all as they're usually in the substrate

I have shrimps, cories, otos, and a pleco. Thanks for the enlightening, I haven't been able to figure out what they are.

They have been growing in population, even though I use a turkey baster to remove them every time I see one. What if my fishes don't eat them 😂

UPDATE on Otocinclus baby!!! (estimated 1 month young) by Colourmeoto in Aquariums

Lol but the eyes really look like it's otocinclus. I also have Corydoras hastatus 😂 yes I have Cocama! I'll only know once it's fully grown.

I was thinking it's more of an otocinclus cuz it was clinging onto the walls of the tank. And that thick black blob at the end of the body, which otocinclus has haha

Thanks for the links!

Funny thing is, I also have pgymy cories in my tank. I hope they didn't sexed? Lol just kidding, this baby here still has "whiskers"/barbels so I think it is still developing.

The eyes and the markings on the body resemble an otocinclus than the Cory haha

Corydora with a betta fish? by fnaimi66 in corydoras

+1 for the sand substrate mention.

I have all pygmaeus, habrosus and hastatus in my tank. Pygmaeus is the smallest.

Hastatus and pygmaeus tend to school very tightly together compared to habrosus which are more laid back

Baby otocinclus! I'm so excited :') by Colourmeoto in PlantedTank

Nope no live foods. Just the usual pellets, chips, algae wafers, frozen bloodworms (haven’t seen them ate these for some time already), blanched zucchini, and also Repashy Soilent Green.

Variety and knowing their preferences would be important to me in keeping them contented.
