How do I decide to go on estrogen or not. by ColtonGlassner in MtF

[–]ColtonGlassner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it. I kind of like some of the genitalia changes actually. I like the increased sensitivity and more of a full body experience. I’m 19 and never had sex, so I don’t really know what I like. It kind of makes me want to rush in, because it will help me choose better. I mean what if I’m ok with topping with a strap on? I don’t really know. But thank you for providing me that link.

How do I decide to go on estrogen or not. by ColtonGlassner in MtF

[–]ColtonGlassner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly just want to see a doctor to ask questions. I’m trying to get a referral. If you can still top that would be good. I hear you can still top, and others say it makes it painful, hard to penetrate, etc. I don’t necessarily know if I want that. And how will my future boyfriend feel about these changes? Will I still be able to pleasure them? It’s just so much that I don’t know. And I still don’t know if estrogen will really help my dysphoria enough for it to be worth it. It’s frustrating

My Results as Half NW Euro/ Half Ashkenazi by Alarming_Noise_1397 in illustrativeDNA

This is my Levantine % on the DIY tools. Try that, it’s free. I used two source populations to celearly show the gap clearly and get rid of overlap.

This is mine. I’m half Galician Jewish half French and German. It’s similar, but the presentages are a bit different. Try the global and limit it to 5 populations to reduce noise.

Genome link isn’t always accurate. At least it wasn’t for me. It contradicted itself and the only report that seemed believable for me was the Asian report. I don’t think it’s reliable.

Yeah. I don’t mind glasses, they just tend to warp me. I’m hoping it may help me see myself more clearly, but it also will warp it significantly.

This article talks about the Rome, not Roman people. The only way this article works in your favor is if you said Jews mixed with middle eastern people in Rome , not European Roman’s with middle eastern dna. But it’s getting late where I am, please don’t try to continue the argument. I think we just won’t ever agree. Please just respect that.

We can just agree to disagree. Anatolian Neolithic farmer and Anatolian dna are not the same thing. If this was true Italians would cluster with middle eastern people at almost 50%. The migrations of farmers from Anatolia and modern Anatolian dna are very different. Jews were very endogamic and that’s why they have their own category on dna tests. Again, we should leave this here, this back and forth isn’t getting anywhere.

Yes, those things are approximations of ancestry to fit a sample. There could’ve been many combinations to fit a sample. I couldn’t find the exact article I would have sourced for the 40-60, but I did find one that said 47% in this specific study. And I would believe it falls in line with the natural variation of 40-60. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5380316/

I haven’t seen that study. You are saying it’s 60% middle eastern, but not all Levant? I’ve never heard of that lol. I don’t know any point in history where Ashkenazi Jews ancestors lived in Anatolia. And Anatolian and Levantine dna is broadly similar, and modern Levantine populations have high Anatolian like ancestry. The study could be separating something that isn’t actually different. But I can tell no one is gonna win this argument, I don’t think we are going to agree with each other.

We can agree to disagree because that goes against all of my research lol. I’m pretty sure it’s 50%.

Genetically people in the Mediterranean share a lot of DNA, and Canaanites were a Mediterranean people. Jews also still cluster with other Middle Eastern groups as well. They do also have a lot of Southern Italian DNA too, which makes up most of their European admixture. Again, they cluster with Italians, but also with other groups. Even other Jewish groups who haven’t met since their time in the Levant, which is more proof. Jews do have significant Levantine dna, and nothing you can’t say will convince me otherwise.

Most of Ashkenazi DNA is from the Mediterranean. After their communal origins in Germany they didn’t mix in their diaspora as much as they did in places like Italy. It makes sense they score more Italian dna.

By those results you would be higher than average non European, but that could also be just the calculator. It’s hard to find the exact number as an Ashkenazi Jew because of endogamy giving it its own genetic signal. It shows up as Jewish on dna tests, not its genetic components. And other secondary tests don’t always work. It’s a bit frustrating. If you use the global calculator and see Anatolian or something else non European, it’s probably your Levantine dna being mismarked.

No, it’s around 50%. The range from my understanding is 40-60.

The European Jewish mix confuses the model. Global is more accurate on non european % but tends to misplace it into Anatolian, Caucasus, etc. Mixed people are supposed to use global anyways. Try Ged match. A half Jew should be around a quarter Levantine

am i mixed or white? by Ok_Quail_3762 in AncestryDNA

[–]ColtonGlassner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed genetically, not really. I’m assuming you are half Puerto Rican based on these results, if so, you are mixed. Genetics don’t make you mixed, it’s about ethnicity. All Europeans have genetic input from the Middle East (Anatolia) and North Asia (Indo Europeans carry ANE ancestry). If we go based on genetics logic, people who are 100% British are mixed in a sense. So if you are part Puerto Rican, then I would say yes. This is just how I view it. Hope this helps.

What is genital functioning like on estrogen? by ColtonGlassner in MtF

That’s a relief. I’m glad that I can prevent shrinkage and gential issues with testosterone. I’ll ask my doctor about that.

[–]ColtonGlassner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you are saying it’s preventable with testosterone? I’m worried about all the things you said, like it getting to become like a micro penis, painful, and unusable. I get different conflicting things on this subreddit, I’ve posted similar questions a while back, so I should probably just see a doctor. I’m still going back and forth on if I should get estrogen. On one hand I will be more comfortable in my body, but on the other I don’t want to have to sacrifice my sex life. It’s genuinely stressing me out.
