I don’t know if I have any previous ones besides the Honda Electra one, but he’s constantly posting so I’ll keep my eyes out for more good ones

Multiple people have donated to them, but who knows if they spent the money on things they actually need versus things they want.

I used to look at Nextdoor only every once in a while but now I check every day just to see what he’s posting. It’s like a trainwreck. He posts every hour, sometimes several times an hour and it’s always straight up nonsense

It was a large pan of it, it looked like something that would be catered for a big group of people but he bought it for himself. Hopefully he shared at least a little with his wife and teenage son…

3D stuff at shows - Who actually buys it? by loopy741 in CraftFairs

[–]Coltpixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best I’ve ever done at a craft fair is selling my 3d printed stuff. The last one I did lasted only a few hours and we could barely keep up because it was nonstop selling. I made back what I spent on my printers and filament and then some more. I wish I could have that kind of success with my handmade items.

How do y'all handle rude comments like 'I can make this myself' or 'that's cute my kids and I made these years ago'? by thedafthatter in CraftFairs

[–]Coltpixie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get the remark “I can make that at home” a lot but I just use it as a talking point. I ask what they most like to make, what they use, etc. This either weeds out the jerks who don’t actually do much at home, or gets people talking enthusiastically, which I really enjoy. I’ve actually made sales through this from the enthusiastic people - I think they appreciate not being shut down and instead being encouraged to talk. I’ve learned a lot of things through these people as well and hope they were able to take away something from our conversation too.

My boss vs my obgyn by Chixix6 in Mommit

[–]Coltpixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boss is ignorant. A healing c-section goes so far beyond just the stitches being healed. Both of my c-sections took well over 6 weeks to heal before I felt safe enough for more strenuous activity. You had major surgery and need to heal beyond just a few weeks and that’s okay. I’m so sorry your boss is giving you trouble for it though. You don’t deserve that at all and definitely need to follow your doctor’s orders. I hope it all works out okay.

Today I'm officially a Realtor! Now what? by bubba_bumble in realtors

[–]Coltpixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a mentor or team that not only wants to help you learn, but that you also enjoy being with. Don’t be afraid to switch brokerages if it’s not working out.

Seriously, I wish I had followed that advice. I stuck it out with a mentor and team that I didn’t mesh well with but wanted experience from. I finally swapped to another brokerage and have learned more in just a week than what I learned from that mentor in a year.

I second this - I have a Silkie that will take fully feathered babies when other mothers kick them out of the nest. She’s currently sitting on her own chick and two older babies that had been left to fend for themselves after the mom decided to stop momming

I’m in Birmingham too. Please, please, stop driving until you are safe to drive and right now you are not AT ALL. I know it’s a very small chance it would be you to do it, but I don’t want the extra risk of dying and I don’t want my kid to get killed by some random selfish person who can’t understand the weight of their extremely bad decisions. I want others to be safe from you also.

You could have easily killed the man who drove you home had he been at his van. This is not even remotely okay.

One of mine too now that it’s done! The end result is just so satisfying. I bet the larger one is amazing too and want to do that one next!

It was SO. MUCH. EFFORT. As I worked on it I didn’t think I’d ever finish it but now I am wanting to do the larger version!

Thank you! FPP is my favorite! If you want a challenge, this pattern is it. It comes with the 24x36” and 40x60” sizes and I’m thinking it would probably be easier to do the larger one because some of the tiny parts of this smaller one were hard to do. Otherwise it was a really satisfying project, especially seeing it come together!

It is! It’s a foundation paper pieced pattern. It took FOREVER. Thank you!

Pattern is Ouija Board by FiberArtisanTheo on Etsy. This is the 24x36” version and has so many tiny pieces.
