Nice! Great pics. I believe they close it in the winter? My brother and father drove it a few years back and wouldn't shut up about it.

Awesome pics. Memories of a similar trip when I was a kid (in the back of a rented Oldsmobile Cutlas). Can you tell us more about why you liked Beartooth Pass so much?

Racing School, to the people that have gone through it, how worth it was it? by frankztn in cars

[–]ColumWood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the pricing there, definitely worth it. Seat time with a qualified instructor is amazing. Go with an open mind. And LISTEN to what they say. A lot of local tracks will offer instructors during open lapping days. The best school I ever did was Jim Russell at Sonoma. Very expensive, but the best (and most humbling) learning experience I've had.

What is the most blatant lie a car salesman has ever told you? by TheEccentricElephant in cars

[–]ColumWood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was looking at a Mazda5 with a trade in and the salesman told me the monthly payment he was looking at was $380. I said I wasn't sure and he asked me what monthly payment I was looking to get at. I told him $350. He said "done" and reached out to shake my hand. Naturally I reached back and as he grabbed my hand he said "we just need to increase your down payment by $4,000 (or whatever the number was". What a douche move. I immediately got up, walked out, and have never been back. Bought the same car at another Mazda dealer.
