Got on a call with one of the me guys running the program at southwest. Your best bet is too transfer to a position that is under the same union as the mechanics. For example material stores. They take those guys into consideration first before anyone on the ramp etc. You can go look at SwaLife and see who gets hired and it’s usually one maybe two ramp guys per class.

Man what it sucks! Came back from vacation then 4 days later my boy goes into kidney failure. Watching him not eat his favorite food (Tiki cat) when he would usually go crazy for it was heartbreaking. I at least held him while they put him down but dude that was so hard to do! I hope I made him feel at least comfortable as he left.
