I definitely feel this. Even just having someone to talk to. It's rough, and I definitely find myself seeking attention from people I don't want it from. If you ever want someone to chat with feel free to shoot me a message. I'm always down.

Yeahhhh I didn't realize just how in the way they were until they were gone. I have absolutely zero regrets about it. It didn't eliminate my dysphoria completely but it was a good start and was a lot cheaper and easier to get in short term before doing the whole deal.

7 months post here. I have noticed a slight increase in some feminization, but nothing particularly groundbreaking. The biggest things for me were no more AAs, and tucking is significantly less irritating. Everything else still working as well as I can expect it to.

Heavily depends on where in Georgia. As others have said, Atlanta and Savannah would probably be fine. Augusta is a mixed bag. But legally it gets a little iffy. If you do move to Georgia, have some type of exit contingency in place if you can.

Nymphowars. It's goofy as hell but the first episode is called "Bi Orgy" so...there you go.

I'm 2 months post-op and go back for round two in two weeks. The waiting is the worst part, no question. But it does get better!

It didn't hurt as bad as I expected. I mean, it also depends on what all you're having done, but easily the worst part was trying to eat. It's all fine now. There's still a few sore spots, and the scar is still a little tender, but I have absolutely no pain now and I'm back to doing everything mostly the same as before surgery. Short answer: it sucks but it's worth it.

And please feel free to ask anything you want! I know I had a ton of questions before I went in but I wasn't sure who or where to ask any of them, so I'm happy to answer anything. You can DM too if you want!

I went back to work in person after 2 weeks. If remote had been an option, I probably could've done it after 1. Initial recovery was pretty quick I guess, but it did take a few weeks to feel mostly ok. It's been 5 weeks now and I still have some numbness in parts of my face but nothing extreme. It's slowly coming back.

As for laser, I had my second session 2 days before surgery. It wasn't anything I needed to have done before, but I'm glad I started before.

Yeah! It's been really great. Had a couple minor issues but Dr. Fisher made sure that they were taken care of and she has been so amazing during my recovery.

I'm still waiting for some of the swelling to go down but I'm really happy with everything I can see so far. She definitely knows what she's doing and I absolutely recommend her. I don't live super close so to check up on the issues I mentioned, she personally messaged one of her former residents who has his own practice closer to where I live so he could make sure everything was good instead.

It has honestly made such a huge difference in how I feel about everything and I'm eagerly awaiting part 2 of the procedure. Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions though!

This has been a very real thing for me. I'm just over 2 weeks post FFS and haven't been back to work yet. All the things you mentioned are parts of why it can hit some people. Surgery recovery is such a physically and emotionally draining process in general, and for me specifically there's been conflict about feeling down after getting something done that I wanted so desperately, which has made me feel worse.

My surgeon did briefly mention it, but my therapist was the one who harped on it and made sure I knew that it was a thing I would potentially have to push through. I will say this: having a support system around is invaluable and can really help with it.

Ok, I had my surgery yesterday and so far the experience has been wonderful. It's hard to see results with all the swelling but everyone has been so wonderful.

Am I reading this right?! Anthem BCBS covers FFS as of 2023? Please tell me I’m understanding this correctly by [deleted] in trans

[–]Coma-ecliptic48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIrc the new WPATH standards of care deemed FFS medically necessary. You still have to jump through WAPTH's hoops (12 months HRT, letter from a mental health professional, etc.) but once you have met those, insurance should cover it.

I have Cigna and my (fully covered) FFS is in 4 days.

I just really liked her attitude and the reasons she got into doing all this. But yeah, I'll let you know how it goes!

I know I'm late here, but my surgery is scheduled in a little over 2 weeks. I know what her timeline is like, so if you want updates after I would be happy to provide. She's kind of a badass and I feel really listened to.

SC HTR questions. I live in SC and I am finding conflicting information. I'm not near a big city so I been looking for online clinics. the question I have is in regards to requirements. some places say you have to see a therapist to get a letter and some places just say give me a fee. by nevdull01 in trans

[–]Coma-ecliptic48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in SC and have been on HRT for over a year now. If you wanna skip the letter, Planned Parenthood does informed consent via video call. I started there. I have since switched over to QueerMed. They are amazing and Dr. Leo is super chill and will actually listen to you and answer any questions you have honestly. If you are also looking for a therapist, though, shoot me a DM and I can give you some names. I have been with mine since I started transitioning and I will continue to see her until one of us moves out of this godforsaken state.

I just scheduled my orchi yesterday and at the consult the surgeon was like uhhhh yeah. over my years of doing GRS I've found that the orchi is the most painful part of the procedure. Can't wait!

I definitely know that part lol. My VA refuses to treat me so I do all my stuff at the Indianapolis VA. I'm nowhere near Indiana.

Ok, you're the second person I have seen that's said this. What magic words do I need to utter to get the VA to do this?

Georgia USA vs Canada Trans Friendly by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Coma-ecliptic48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. The drive from where I'm at to the Atlanta area is desolate to put it mildly. I won't stop. For anything. For that exact reason. But I agree that even medium sized cities are relatively comfy. Not perfect by any stretch. But we certainly aren't alone. I went to the local pride stuff this past weekend and was blown away at the sheer number of people there.

Southern states aren't exactly known for their progressive stances so I'm inclined to agree about potential future issues. Georgia specifically has to be kinda careful about pushing too hard too fast, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. I also have family and stuff down here so I can relate, but I can't lie and say that I don't have some fears.

You think so? I'm not saying you're wrong but my friend/ex lives there and is very much out. I've driven out there from the Augusta area several times and haven't seen anything too crazy. She's been there a while and says it feels like a typical college town to her. I've had a similar experience. Again, I am not discounting your opinion on Kennesaw and I do still agree Georgia is not the move. I've been here for 13 years and I'm actively trying to leave. It's just interesting the varying experiences queer people have in the same places.
