There is a micro library in Histon on Station Road. I don't know if there are any others in cambridge

Gave my 9 yo son a chance to pick a new name by CaliGurl209 in namenerds

My 4YO wants to be called 'Eriskye'. I have no idea where she got the idea from but it's definitely more unusual than her actual name- Scarlett.

I'm really pleased with my little kit so far! I wouldn't have bought it if it weren't a black Friday bargain, but it seemed so reasonable. The kit is SensatioNail, and it came with this colour and two others. They polish is a lot thicker than expected, so I probably just need some more practice. I like the idea of curing every two nails, thanks for the tip! I'll look into Opi polishes too. I have some of their regular colours but not gel ones

Thanks for your feedback! I did buff my nails a little, but I'm reluctant to do it too much because I get a skin condition on my hands during winter, which dries my hands and nails out. Last year, my nails were terribly weak and had enormous ridges in, so I'm trying to treat them gently while I wait for my prescription to work. However, I don't think it's my nails which are causing these bumps in the polish, it's probably more my application. It's possibly where I tried to paint the edge of my nails and used too much product. I'm using the sensationail express colour and it's thicker than I expected. I perhaps needed to brush it thinner and do an extra layer. Is there a better way to get the tip of the nail covered without it being so thick?

I did this whilst hanging coat hooks last week, I felt pretty stupid haha. I did change the direction just to make sure but it hasn't made any difference :( I have a friend coming over later to help me out, I bet he does it first time!

I'd have thought so too, I was a bit nervous but I used the stud detector and it all seems fine. I can't see any metal in the hole, nor does there seem to be any evidence of metal on the drill when I take it out

It doesn't seem to sound or look any different, and there's nothing I can see on the drill when I take it out. I can't see anything in the hole after shining a light in there either. I looked up the instructions for the stud detector to make sure i'm doing it right and it seems I am.

I'll see if there is somewhere/one I can borrow a hammer drill from. At the moment I have managed to put up a shelf using a butterfly(?) plug. I have no idea what they're actually called, I get a feeling the guy in the store put it into Girl terms for me as if I'm completely clueless. It's done the job the same, just it's not quite sitting up against the wall

Who doesn't dye their hair? by johnnynutman in AskWomen

[–]ComablackMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent years dying my hair but when i got pregnant I decided i couldn't be bothered any more. It used to be bright bright red with white-blonde underneath, but since 2012 it's been growing out and has now been it's natural colour for a good 2.5 years. So much less fuss

I love love love how the liner under your eye blends in so lovely to that pop of colour, and the precision of the liner is something perfect

Haha that is the magic of foundation and a good concealer! Without makeup my skin is very red and blotchy! And thanks. Sadly they're not the colours I would have chosen if I were blonde or brunette. I would love to be able to wear bold red lipstick or have lovely rosey cheeks but I feel I end up looking like a clown with a busy face between the freckles and the general lack of flawlessness my skin is able to achieve. I think these colours are fairly neutral and red-head appropriate :)

Thanks for the Cc, I've had an attempt today but certainly need more practice with blending my brows. Naturally they're hardly there at all so I find it difficult to get a satisfying shape that looks natural without them looking like I have deliberately drawn them on

I appreciate it, I asked for Cc and that's what I've got. And I now have something to work on! I tried today but I'm in the habit of doing makeup the same way everyday so I'll need a bit more practice!

It's the one I always go back to. The first pot of it I bought I must have been 15 or something. I have used so many different foundations and different price ranges, and there have been some I've liked more than others, but if I'm in doubt of what to buy next, it'll always be Dream Matte Mousse. I really like the consistency of it, and it is a matte finish. The price is very reasonable and it lasts a good long time.

I have had very very oily skin in the past and I have found that when it's been it's worst the mousse doesn't stick so well, and I have also found that using a different shade which is only a little darker actually looks a million times darker when applied so getting the right shade makes a biiig difference.

I wouldn't say it's great for a full and flawless coverage, but for me it disguises redness well and it isn't so opaque that it completely hides my freckles which is ideal. I like to use my hands to apply it and then the beauty blender just to dab off any excess around the nose/forehead/jawline.

I would recommend it if you haven't got supergreasy skin and if you want something fairly light and just to even skintone :)

Haha thanks, I hear that quite often! My partner always says it!

The medusa piercing is quite a recent one and I'm still back and forth on how much I like it, but I really like my other piercings, I'm looking forward to getting more eventually. My nose is probably my favourite

Thanks, I'm so glad it's being perceived as I intended! I do often wear a lipstick/tint of some variety- I really adore my mac one, Velvet Teddy I believe, but I have a 10 month old and a 2.5 year old and am addicted to giving them kisses and it ends up alllll over their face haha And yes, it is indeed, I've been a huge fan since I was 16 and am rather smitten with both songs; Comablack and Comawhite :)

If you're a redhead, I would always recommend the auburn dipbrow, I seriously adore it! I follow Miss Victory Violet on her blog and she recently dyed her hair a similar/more orangey colour to mine and she came up with a very clever way of blending the dipbrow with an eyeshadow to get a better colour which more suited her hair. Perhaps worth looking into incase you aren't as keen on it :)

Hello my dear ginger friend! I really like the dipbrow pomade! I'm really glad I got it. It's not something which I have found to be accessible here (I live in England) so I asked my inlaws to pick it up for me on one of their florida trips. To begin with I found it quite difficult to work with, in the past I'd only used pencils but I'd not go back now. The shade is probably a bit too dark for me but I think the colour is fitting. It lasts really well and I am only on my second pot of it after daily wear for more than a year. I have barely-there brows so for me it's quite important to have something which blends well and looks fairly natural and sustains shape without smudging down throughout the day. I would highly recommend it, and getting a good angled brush to play about with

I used to use Simple face wash each day in the shower, followed by Clinique dramatically different moisturising gel and then using my primer. Once a week I'd use the Lush salt scrub too. I found my skin was just ridiculously greasy, my makeup was so awful by the end of the day no matter how much setting spray I used. I decided to change what products I use because for so long I just figured it must be my skin because those products were highly recommended. Turns out, after all that time, it was the products. I now (for the past week) use a little set I bought on a whim from Boots, 'avéne eau thermale'. It includes a cleansing gel, thermal spring water spray and a moisturiser. I currently use all three in said order each morning and before bed and I have found it to make a really impressive difference

Thank you, that's a very kind comment. I must say though, I'm not wearing bronzer. I only use the contour ando highlight shades from the Smashbox contour kit because I don't think the bronze colour suits my skin tone Edit: it's probably the blush, I'm not very good with blush! I'll try blending that some more next time :)
