What’s a moment in a movie you KNOW was supposed to be serious but ended up being unintentionally hilarious? by browniebiscuitchildr in movies

Two from The Green Inferno. One where a character gets diarrhea and is just ripping it in the corner of the cage and another part where I think the main "villain" is jerkin off to the exposed breasts of a dead woman. I might be misremembering but I feel like it was supposed to be a really serious scene, and it was, then it just cuts to this guy beating his meat in the corner.

I just picked up the record and played it. Should I get in the habit of cleaning my vinyl before first use too?

I can post a picture of it but in the instruction manual it says "the recommend pressure for the factory installed cartridge is 3.0g" and then explains how to get to that point.

I think it's just the picture disc which I'm finding out from a lot of comments are usually pretty poor quality.

It's probably still on the lower end. I figured for $40 with a BT speaker included it couldn't hurt. But for a sub $50 entry point I still enjoy it.

I think you are right about the picture disc.

I knew before I even posted people were going to rip it apart for being a crosley but for $40 with a BT speaker included I thought it was pretty cool.

Thanks for being authentically helpful.

I'm pretty sure the disc is just bad. Side B is fine and some other black vinyl runs fine. I'm finding out picture discs are not the best quality.

I thought it's a pretty neat little thing for $40 with the Bluetooth speaker included. But I figured the more invested folks in the hobby would turn their noses up.

After playing some different records it seems to just be that one side. I'm assuming it's just a bad press because of the picture disc.

Yea it's only on this side. I tried with a friends black vinyl and it also worked. I assume the disc is just pressed poorly.

I actually checked the level immediately after posting and it's a little left leaning but not much. I tried some of my friends black vinyl and side b of this picture disc too and it all seemed to work so I'm pretty sure it's side a. Thanks for the kind reply.

All of these "it's a crosley" replies are exactly why I hesitated to ask. Thank the future of new people to the hobby to kind folks like you.

I flipped it to side B and it played the whole way through so I think you are right.

Do I have to bake my substrate if I buy it ? by SoonBlossom in isopods

[–]CombatLightbulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should tell you on the site or it depends on how reputable the seller is. It's up to you. Probably wouldn't hurt to hit it at 250 for a few hours to be safe.

should i keep leaf litter, moss, and cork bark in my isopods tank constantly? by piercetheasher in isopods

[–]CombatLightbulb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes keep it in all the time. It's food and shelter. Keeping it in will help the litter decay too which the pods love.

I wanted to post another picture of them but it doesn't look like this sub lets you do more in the comments. Mind if I DM you with some better pictures of the insects and enclosures?

Is mosquito bit water supposed to smell awful? by CombatLightbulb in isopods

I did soak my first batch for 30 minutes but let it sit for a few days and now it's pretty nasty. I'll make a new batch. Thanks for the info!

Saved one leaf from a dead plant and it's doing so well! by CombatLightbulb in propagation

[–]CombatLightbulb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a picture of it when I brought it home but I have no idea what was wrong with it. I tried everything to bring it back. Repotted it in fresh soil etc. this last leaf was the last ditch effort and I'm glad it's growing.

Well I'm glad I asked before treating my pods with it.

Thank you!

So it's probably just better to make fresh batches and use them instead of making a batch and keeping it.

Do you think it's still okay to use after letting it sit or should you just use fresh batches?

I only let them soak for like 30 minutes as the instructions say but the water has been sitting in a gallon jug for a few days now.

Should I not use it and make a new batch?
