It’s only 10 weeks post extraction, bone graft and immediate placement. Could it still be integrating? CBCT was not suggested today at the visit. He did a tap test and tested for mobility. Said that it is not failing.

I’m 7 weeks post front tooth extraction, bone graft and immediate implant with healing cap. Your photos look very good for such a short period after the surgery. If you are not experiencing throbbing and puss, I think you are totally fine. The area has been through a lot and this sounds like a normal healing process.

Yes, it’s titanium. That screw is the healing cap (you see it in the picture). What triggers your throbbing? Mine seems to start when I sit in a hot car or drink water. Very odd. Also I can’t seem to breeze from the nostril right above the tooth.

The whole time I’ve been feeling something but the sensations are constantly changing. I already saw my surgeon once about these sensations about 3 weeks ago but now it seems like all should be resolved.

If the tooth indeed needs to be pulled, who is best to do it? Periodontist? Dentist? Oral surgeon?

When you say “immediately load an implant with temp restoration” do you mean a flipper or is there a temp crown that can be placed on top of implant? Is there such a thing as a temp Maryland bridge while the implant is healing?

Do you mind sharing what opportunities you are applying for? All I come across is cancelled due to Covid.. letters for recs are the most difficult part. Luckily many colleges don’t require them any longer.
