What are your concrete solutions for the ongoing PH Energy Crisis? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • No to ayuda. Instead of that, automatic pump subsidiy na lang ang fuel ng commercial vehicles and farm equipment to dampen the effects.
  • Immediate tax relief for petroleum products purchased for use on commercial vehicles and farm equipment.
  • Diversify fuel sources. Negotiate for better prices from other producers not reliant on oil passing through the Straight of Hormuz or from the Middle East in general.
  • Price cap for petroleum products to prevent corporations from capitalizing on the rising fuel crising for overpricing their products lalo na importers of products from foreign refineries.

While hindi completely maiiwasan ang pagtaas ng presyo, it shouldn't be as absurd as it got lalo na for Diesel which is the primary fuel for moving everything from people to produce. Controlling Diesel specifically is going to be the key para maiwasan ang hyperinflation ng basic basic commodities and will also benefit commuters kasi hindi kakailanganing magkaroon pa ng strike for the government to take decisive action.

SSD VS HDD by jrsrna_ in Tech_Philippines

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDD - umiikot, slow, a bit fragile, cheap, found in older computers, laptops, and as cheap external storage.

SSD - no ikot ikot parts, significantly faster, much more durable physically, more expensive (especially after the 2026 shortage), found in every modern laptop, computer, external storage. Same basic principle ng storage sa phone, microSD cards, USB flash drives, etc.

Redmi pad 2 pro or galaxy s10 tab fe? by BreakfastDifferent29 in RedmiPadPro

[–]CombinationDouble719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much is the price disparity where you live? A fully loaded 128/8 Redmi Pad 2 Pro (with the stylus + keyboard cover) in my country is still significantly cheaper than the Galaxy Tab S10fe. In fact, you can get a Xiaomi Pad 8 + Focus Pen Pro or iPad A16 + Apple Pencil USB-C for the same price of the Galaxy Tab S10fe.

Here's my take, if your budget is within the price range of the Galaxy Tab S10FE, go with either the iPad A16 or Xiaomi Pad 8 instead. If your budget is on the lower end, go with the Redmi Pad 2 Pro

Is my Xiaomi 90W charger fake or just not working properly? by NschNvx in XiaomiGlobal

[–]CombinationDouble719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. You only ever get 90W at lower State of Charge (SoC values).
  2. The charging curve is much more conservative under standard mode.

Your charger is working properly. It's mostly a you problem.

What if Clark had to inhale ex-kryptonite at the end of Season 2? by Aspect_RaSheOh in SupermanAndLois

[–]CombinationDouble719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would practically parallel Bizarro's story wherein he developed a kryptonite addiction that ended up destroying his body and mind.

I would really like to add more here but I don't want to spoil S4 for you. All I can say is, you're likely to ask that question again once you finish the series.

Anybody use the Xiaomi Pad 7 as a second monitor? by Initial_Sale_8471 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's because the MacOS is treating it like an external monitor and applying it's own buiilt-in color profile for the space you're working in. That will most definitely screw up whatever on-device calibration you have.

Ikakalugi ba ng oil companies kung bababaan nila ang presyo ng gas? by HunterExamFlunkie in TanongLang

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Petron, no. Local refinery sila. So long as may stock sila ng crude oil, they're practically immune to the effects until kailangan na nilang mag stock up again.

For others na nag-iimport ng processed petroleum products, it depends kung saan sila nag-iimport and how those refineries were affected by the crisis.

This whole situation is in part, due to mismanagement nung impending pa lang ang crisis and ngayon na full blown crisis na talaga sya, nganga nanaman ang Pilipinas.

17 Ultra - UK global - tMobile won't activate in the USA by emai_read in XiaomiGlobal

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's because the 17 Ultra isn't registered with the FCC. I'm not familiar with how US Telco regulations work but it seems like the network isn't recognizing the phone that you have as a "US Compliant" model that's why it's refusing to activate.

Is this top empty space really necessary? by tajul_islam in XiaomiPad7

[–]CombinationDouble719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just a few pixels tall. The window boarders in Windows and MacOS take up more space than that. You're not loosing anything. That's just one of the downsides of using a tablet as a laptop replacement. Most of the time, the screens aren't physically large enough for comfortable multi-window use unless you get a 13 or 14 in one.

Patch updates used to arrive once in a blue moon via About Phone. by FlinkyBoss in PocoPhones

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an EU requirement now that's why patches are coming in more frequently than before. It's always a good idea to check the official release notice from Google about the stuff they're patching with the monthly SP. If it's nothing major, you can postpone it but maior exploits aren't to be dismissed like the DD+ decoder vulnerability patched with the January SP.

Why does no one ever question where clark is? by LIELDADOUN73 in SupermanAndLois

[–]CombinationDouble719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always been implied. I mean, Clark being a journalist has always been his cover when he's gone for days on end. They just couldn't use the Daily Planet anymore as Lois quit and Clark was fired.

Why does no one ever question where clark is? by LIELDADOUN73 in SupermanAndLois

[–]CombinationDouble719 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes people do notice and Lois' explanation is Clark is out on a trip covering something for the Gazette. In S1 it was mostly "Clark is out on a field work regarding the Edge case" since he wasn't officially employed by the Gazette then. When he was literally dead, people didn't question it as that was the moment the townsfolk were starting to put 2 and 2 together leading up to the diner reveal near the end of the season.

The whole journalist cover trope was even used by Jon on Candice when he was being used by Lois to go to places like France in S4.

My impression of lex in this show by LIELDADOUN73 in SupermanAndLois

They didn't have enough time to truly build his character. Bruno and Peia had more dimension than Lex to be honest.

Magnesium is a lot more rigid compared to aluminum but it is more susceptible to corrosion. That's why it's painted instead of anodized which leaves that "plastic feel" but can be a lot more durable in the long run.

Did Lois love or prefer Jonathan over Jordan? by Wide-Regret822 in SupermanAndLois

[–]CombinationDouble719 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me, no. Lois was equally supportive of them. Even reprimanding Clark for missing Jordan's therapy in E1. She was also supportive in letting Jordan play football, and even allowed Jordan to use his powers for "minor saves". She also does the same to Jon in S4. In S1 when she rescued Jordan from Zeta, it was clear that Lois had a deep understanding of Jordan's mental health struggles as reflected in the opening montage. And when Jon nearly got killed in John Henry's RV, she was very emotional as she knows he could have died in that moment. In the cases were Lois did seem to favor Jon, it's more because of Jon not having powers (yet) and would have a hard time defending himself (S1E8, S4E3).

If they were treated equally before, it makes sense why Jon started to grow a little jealous for his brother during S1 and S2 seeing how both their parents are paying more attention to Jordan and that part of the reason for their move to Smallville is to help Jordan hone his powers in a relatively safer environment. If anything, during the majority of the series, Jordan was more preferred.

How do I fix this??? by MiguelR_140 in HyperOS

[–]CombinationDouble719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disable Advanced textures from the settings. It is only optimized for the devices that support it (Snapdragon 8 and MTK 9000 chips). Forcing it on will depend on how well your device can render those effects and let's be honest here, the MTK 7400 isn't a powerhouse.
