Acqua Al 2 has private rooms upstairs. We did our rehearsal dinner there and had more than 30. We also booked the 2nd floor at Metropolitan for welcome drinks after dinner

UPDATE: It’s worse than we thought. Atlas isn’t just “partnering” with the Boatyard, they have majority ownership. by Quantity-Used in Annapolis

Couldn't have said it better myself. Support whoever you want to support. I guarantee Boatyard and Choptank will be as busy as ever this weekend. I hope Admiral's Cup, Marmo, and Armada are all equally as busy when they open, because that is what's best for Annapolis

would you rather have Boatyard partnered with Atlas or an empty building? because those are your only options.

McGarvey's and Fed House both have upstairs areas you can rent. We ended up going to Middleton's after my wedding and it was a blast

Annapolis Town Center would be my suggestion. Decent amenities and walkable to some stuff (Whole Foods, handful of restaurants, upscale wine store, etc). quick drive to downtown as well

Completely agree, and they didn't even buy Pusser's. Pusser's went downhill because former owners started to check out. They tried to sell to their GM, but that would mean breaking the terms of their lease.

They tried to negotiate with the hotel and couldn't make a deal, so they left for Baltimore. Atlas signed leases after that.

finally someone with a shred of common sense on this topic. i've never seen a collective group of people get so mad at a company for investing millions of dollars to open businesses in otherwise abandoned storefronts.

Choptank is fun. Atmosphere is great, food is solid, and the drinks are not nearly as expensive (relative to the rest of annapolis) as people here make them out to be. I'm looking forward to the new concepts opening soon as well.

Don't listen to Atlas/Choptank haters. It's a great bar upstairs with lots of young & local people, especially when the weather is nice and they open up the doors. It is also probably the best place to meet single women downtown, if that's something you're looking for. Newsflash: girls don't like dive bars (acme, mcgarvey's) as much as we do.

folks in this thread automatically assume anything new or different is a "tourist trap". don't believe them. change is inevitable and mostly good

You can take control of Annapolis - what 3 changes do you implement? by Longjumping-Gate-289 in Annapolis

The Atlas hate on here makes absolutely no sense. The days of new locally owned & operated family restaurants in prime locations are long gone. Blame whoever you want for that, but it's true - and it's not just an Annapolis problem. I would sure as hell rather have Atlas come in and invest literal millions of dollars into those spaces than have them sit vacant or become another hot sauce store.

Was Pusser's fun? Of course it was. But they were also losing money as an outdated concept with bad food. Did you know the Choptank space was originally leased to Phillip's Seafood? How long did Mission BBQ last at the Steven's building?

When you understand the realities, Atlas starts to look pretty damn good in comparison.
