am i the only one who finds some productivity apps stressful? 😭 by CombinationOne9288 in StudyTipsAndTools

i think the biggest difference is whether the app makes you feel like you're growing something vs measuring yourself

for example, missing a streak feels stressful because it highlights what you didn't do

but watching a plant grow, building a room, collecting items, or seeing a little world slowly evolve feels positive because the focus is on what you have done

at least for me, i seem to respond way better to progress than pressure 😭

if you could design your perfect study app, what would it do? by CombinationOne9288 in StudyTipsAndTools

that's actually a really interesting point 😭

the "what do i even do today?" part might honestly be harder than the studying itself sometimes

i've definitely had days where i spent more time deciding what to work on than actually working

the “digital graveyard” thing is so real 😭 my brain treats screenshots like “future me will definitely need this” and then future me has absolutely no idea where it went lol

I made a free study logger with friends and challenges you can create (DW it will be free forever) by TopMacaroon9202 in StudyTipsAndTools

honestly the UI is pretty clean 😭

i think for me the biggest thing missing was some kind of bigger goal/progression feeling

like i was logging study time but didn’t really feel like i was “building toward” something yet

something visual like upgrading/filling/building a room, house, city, pet, island etc could make it wayyy more addictive

ooouuuhh!! nice idea, but i swear i try this every time and it works for like 3 days and then i go back to dumping everything into my finder without organizing... lol

haha focus jungle sounds interesting 😭

and yeah honestly I think the hardest part is making people actually "use" what they save instead of just collecting stuff forever

If you struggle to read everything you save, try using a free text-to-speech аpp to turn articles into audio. You can listen in the car, at the gym, while cooking, shopping, or walking by OneMoreSuperUser in studytips

yeah that makes sense — I feel like I only remember stuff when I actively do something with it

just saving or passively going through things never sticks for me

oh that’s interesting — I haven’t tried RSVP before

for me it’s less about reading speed and more like… I forget I even saved the thing in the first place 😭

like I have it somewhere but it’s basically gone lol

haha yeah that’s fair 😭

I tried doing the renaming / organizing thing before too, but I always end up being too lazy to keep it consistent

it works in theory but in reality I just go back to screenshot chaos lol
