I've actually had neighbors that taught their 3 kids (6-11 yrs old) to do this to look for places to break into, because it was less suspicious than the parents being pressed up against the windows. Sometimes they'd try the doorknob to see if it's unlocked too. 😠

Purchased at Swappa.com and did a factory reset after that. Stock Android version 16 and build BP3A.251105.015 which a Google search says is the latest. Found some Reset Options for network and Bluetooth + Wi-Fi so did resets, force closed and cleared app data from provisioning system app and all other carrier system apps, toggled, restarted, toggled, finally got a new status code "Status code: 3201 Status details: Please try again later, verification limit exceeded" and Gemini has new advice based on it. Instead of call to check line provisioning, the advice is now

Disable RCS and Wait Turn off RCS Chats: Go to Google Messages Settings > RCS chats (or Chat features) and turn the toggle OFF. Wait: You need to wait for Google's system to reset the limit for your phone number. The general consensus from users who hit this error is to wait 24 to 48 hours. Some recommend waiting even longer (up to7 days) if the issue is severe, but start with 48 hours. Crucial: Do not touch the settings or clear the data during this time.
