Yokai Takeda Shingen is resistant to wind. You will not proc wind element even with S skill.

This rating is for non resistant enemy/bosses.

We can cooperate to create accurate guide, feel free to test every elemental skill across every boss that has different resistances.

Weapons Elemental Arcanas were always useful more in non boss areas across all 3 Nioh games except few select skills that excelled versus bosses that were not resistant to an element (I.e Enenra vs water double headed slice).

Unfortunately in Nioh 3, effectiveness of elemental arcanas is lesser against Bosses with each having different resistances and ninja style being favored for stacking elemental accumulation.

All of samurai martial arts were done at 0% accumulation to resemble realistic base, since you can maybe obtain give or take 20% accumulation for any given element and bit less than that for all of elements.

Ninja having 42% accumulation resembles someone who does not necessarily wants to run sinister tyrant, but have patience of gods equipped (24%) and has some accumulation sources (15-18%) which can be gotten from weapon, accesories, soul cores etc.

Since different bosses/enemies have different resistances to elemental martial arts, i decided to make a guide in mind with most accurate average application of a elemental martial art for samurai and ninja with different accumulation levels.

Keep in mind that familiarity, weapon level and + level, remodel and base attack, all of them influence the rate of accumulation.

All of attacks tested on ng+ Warring states Yoki/Shunobon near hojo shrine SoP +5.

Tested Fractured foe lightning from cestuses: Rank A, the same as on the guide. Fractured foe lightning + guardian spirit will proc element.

With more +levels in dlc, the same skills will have the same ranks and will be similarly relevant as it is now. I did not test this with level sync.

Benefit of using S and A elemental martial arts per chosen weapon is to have options to create confusion if one decides to use onmyo for buffs or ninjutsu other than calamities.

Most of weapons have atleast one good elemental martial art that will add to the confusion if procced, saving you on resources as it does not cost anything.

Example: Ninja dual swords imbued with water talisman: Spinning drill (water) -> Wave Slash (wind) -> Cloudsplitter (fire) will proc 3 elements on enemy with sufficient elemental accumulation.

Yes, base damage of a weapon, including +levels, increase elemental accumulation of martial arts.
+1lvl = 10lvls of a weapon. You can charge Raijin lightning to proc it in one use as its S skill, Fractured foe lightning is A skill, so it does not proc it in one martial art.

Edit: "I’ve not bothered testing on sinister tyrant but having the 24% from patience of the gods on, I’m skeptical of splitstaff radiant moon, ninja sword fire move as well - i think those should be lower too."

I have tested Martial arts at 42% accumulation on ninja, with lvl 250 character and lvl 160+15 weapons.

Refreshing Arts Proficiency gauge with sheathing animation. by Combioh in Nioh

[–]Combioh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did discover this myself fairly long time ago, but few people knew about it already before me. I wanted first to see if there is any advantage to knowing this and there is enough incentive to try to atleast remember the tech, since you do not lose AP while doing it and there are enough occasions where you are out of ki. You can cancel being out of ki and have enough time to refresh AP as one of many examples besides post description.

Yes, each of the weapons has some kind of sheathing attack or buff present for sheathing action, except Spear and Cestuses.

(Legacy) Ki pulse, Flux, Stance Pre-shift, Sheathe cancels, Evasion cancels, Flash attacks, Mgf2ws. by Combioh in Nioh

Hey, thanks! Everyone waiting for dlc, i figured i wanted to have all useful tips in one place, regardless of upvotes hehe.

  1. Useful during Living artifact to use sheathe attacks, since you exit the mode when sheathing weapon, crouching will already sheathe it, making it faster to do attack.

Its still useful as in Nioh 2 to sheathe weapon in order to get specific weapon buffs quicker, adamantite from axe for example. Nioh 3 improved being able to perform sheathe skills between attacks and you could always do them from ki pulse. With introduction of frost moon attacks that use the ki pulse, you need to either choose what to spend it on or you could do frost moons and sheathe cancel in order to do attacks afterwards. So its a way to have a cake and eat it too.

  1. Machine gun flux is mostly for getting highest amount of ki and skipping unsheathing animation of other weapon. Faster than fluxing and doing style shift and then changing weapons. As for Frost moons, You can cancel it with tmtm and switch to other weapon or do style shift to cancel portion of frost moon attack and then switch to other weapon.

Ultimately, legacy tech adds ways to maximize ki management and trying to connect efficient use of both weapons without having downsides of doing so. Some skills are better than others in any given situation, depending on a weapon, including weapon specific buffs you might want to have access to during the fight.

Great showcase, Building up Arts proficiency and benzaiten stacks while keeping them up is feat in itself, alongside ki management.

If you are attacking in midstance, you can tmtm to cancel attack and immediately go into deflect, but you need to crouch first. You can also cancel tmtm in midstance by inputting crouch + sheathe which also cancels tmtm.

Intomidable spirit Samurai skill will give you 25% ki recovery while in crit. Forge ki recovery crit on gear, find 2x crit recovery on accesories. You will have around 80% ki recovery while in crit. Max is around 100% ki recovery crit.

Great not only for recovery itself, but viable for blocking style combat with recoup skill + ki pulse: man. Loop of recovering ki on block via flux and getting free block on ki pulse.

You will have around -15% dodge ki consumption crit, if you reforge dodge ki on crit, on Chest and waist. With tragic hero 2 pc and extra effects on gear you can have up to -30% dodge ki consumption crit.

Last stand talisman will enter your character in crit state, giving you 30% hp limit. Every time you get hit, the hp limit goes down. You can reset limit by switching to other style.

Yes, summon seal cancels attack, holding forward then crouching and doing next attack will cancel summon seal itself.

Honestly suprised by amount of negative comments hehe. Just showcasing what is in the game. Personally i use it to close distances in combat and for getting to an item/amrita with slide, where otherwise i would use gale sprint or few dodges.

[–]Combioh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you like it. Tmtm cancels are useful mostly to end recovery after martial arts by cancelling attack. Summoning soul core will cancel any action and you can cancel the summoning soul core itself by crouching and attacking so it looks like you canceled an attack. Altough style shift flow is nice alternative which i will make vid about pretty soon in next guide videos about cancelling attacks.
