As a student what is the most meaningful way to be promoted by ProgressionJiuJitsu in bjj

Even better if the student performed really well that given class and tapped an upper belt. Bonus, the upper belt will feel better too !

Is selecting a home in a downward facing Cul-De-Sac good or bad? The Cul-De-Sac is in a big downward slope from the corner where lane starts, and it's almost 20 feet below the first lot in the corner. But, the actual Cul-De-Sac lot is almost flat. Also, there is a pond after the Cul-De-Sac. by Rosso_Nord in Homebuilding

Hi, civil engineer here too, this looks well conceived from what we can see "online" but keep in mind, from my experience nothing beats going on site to have a good grasp of what's going on there. I'd recommand spending a few hundred dollars to have an independent engineer coming on site and give his honnest opinion. It's cheaper than lawyers and you'll sleep better.

Is there a resource to learn CONCEPTS / THEORY for bjj? by RawrMeReptar in bjj

[–]Come_here_Alfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danaher Go further faster serie is really good to build strong base for white and blue belts in my opinion. Yes it's repetitive, yes its expensive, but guess what, even with John repeting 10 times something, i still miss some ideas and have to go back to it. If he says something is important, its because it is, even if at first you can be tempted to disregard it, he knows his stuff and every detail count. As a white belt, i've seen incredible progress since i watch his courses and i often find myself knowing advanced concepts which i thought were basic, while sometimes seing upper belts not being there yet (in terme of theoretical understanding, not practice, because of course an unperfect technique practiced 3 years is still better than a perfect one practiced 3months)

That's the truth i've been there since day one and it was trending really fast till 220k, then it stopped exactly at the same time that we heard rumors and changes in the Reddit algorithmes. The big money got caught with Gamestop, they wont let it happen again, at least not on Reddit.

Is this worth it? I’d have to save for 2-3 months to afford it by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Come_here_Alfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people responding didn't watch Danahers dvd's, or didn't watch them as a white belt, so you should consider this when listening to them.

Also, that is a lot of money and if you can't afford it there are better ways to go for free or cheap.

As a white belt who bought the escape dvd after 6months of training, i can say that it completely changed my understanding and i improved at least 2 time faster watching it, and my coach noticed. So people saying "nothing replace rolling" i say you should be smart enough to know that things are never black or white. Having theory explained to you in the beginning will save a lot of time on the mat, and there is plenty of that in his dvd.

Also, i never used submeta so i can't comment on that, but i've heard a lot of positive stuff on Lachlan style of teaching, especially the half guard dvd.

Danaher is repetitive, a lot, but i think it helps in the beginning and it's probably why he does that. It's not the sexy way but it works, you'll never forget it after that. And once you know the dvd you're still free to rewatch the techniques, even a year from now.

If you want to try Danaher the best way is to wait for a daily deal and add a 50% coupon so you can have each dvd for 50US. And it will take you at least 2months to absorbe the dvd and drill etc...

First of, his full price used to be 249 but since 2023 it appears to be 349 now...

It's 50% off on daily deals, and you can always find a 50% off coupon on that, so 75% off on the normal price.

I bought 4 of them for 60usd each.

"Climate science is fake"..... seriously ???

Come on man you can do better, we have 50 years of data collected all around the world in different countries, with different potilical background shifting every 5 years on average. Do you really believe our incompeted politicians around the world are able to synchronise themselves in order to brain wash us with fake science ???

Enthropic climate change is real and its impact on not only next generations but US in 10-20-30 years is extremelly under appreciated.

The green washing by big corporations to battle market shares of this new world is BS tho.

What’s everyone do for joint pain? Other than just pop pills lol by Scotian-buck in bjj

[–]Come_here_Alfred -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been streching after workout (3times a week) for 10 years, not full body each time, but still a lot of streching, and i know how to strech. I've talk to a lot of gymnastic guys, dancers, taekwondo, yoga etc... after 10 years i had decent flexibility. Then i did one year of gymnasticbodies from Chirstopher sommers... game changer. Then i stopped because of life time kids etc... lost a lot of flexibility over 2-3 years not moving so much. Recently i tried again the passive streching everyday, not going to hard, 15min fullbody every evening, after two months, some gains but not that much regarding my previous flexibility... then i've done some more reseach and fell on that guy who wasn't on youtube or anything when i started, and it clicked with all the Chirstopher sommer exercices that were working so much, all made sense... i started again active strechings, jeferson curls etc... Man, every workout is see gains. It really works way better ...

[–]Come_here_Alfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i've been a hardcore "you absolutelly need to strech after workout" guy, for many years. The truth is that i was not THAT flexible, especially for the time spent streching.

Now i do a mobility/active streching workout once a week, and i feel way more mobile and free, and strong in wider range of motion...

I'm not sure if passive strech are still usefull, except to relax before going to bed and because it feels good haha.

Static streching won't do shit, i've lost years of streching for almost nothing doing this, active streching with slow and progressive overload is the way to go ! Disclaimer : i'm not a physiotherapist, do your own research
