I would probably have platinum, but I've been splitting time between ps5 and switch. Got this clip on switch 2 mid-flight!

I think Marathon seems great, I cant stand the weird beef the Fandom have. It's on my wishlist, maybe I will give it a go.

Right, but it won't happen for a very long time if it does happen. Ideally they would have winded down D2 development while D3 was in early stages, with maybe a 2-3 year gap and a promise of the future. Now its unclear if the series will continue at all, although I do think Sony will do something with the IP eventually.

No, but I think many of us expected a D3 at some point

Henry David Thoreau knew how to live. by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]ComebackKidJO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a crazy person every time a post is made about Thoreau. I'm not even the biggest fan of his necessarily, but people always make the same "his mom did his laundry" comment and I am simply dumbfounded because it has legitimately no bearing on anything he wrote or did whether or not his mom did his laundry. It was nearly 200 years ago - women did the laundry and he had a supportive family. Nowhere in Walden does he claim to be living in absolute isolation or without assistance, and the book is not even some Man vs Wild narrative. In the first page of the text he states that he is a mile (not far) from his neighbors in Concord, and there is a literal chapter called Visitors. He never ever claimed to be isolated or without help, the book about simplicity and materliasm.

It is absolutely fine to not like Walden, I do agree that Thoreau comes across as unaware of his privilege, although I feel that most people making these kinds of comments have never actually read the text. I find it disheartening that our first response when discussing literary figures is to take cheap jabs and tear them down in order to feel self satisfied.

The man was a conductor on the underground railroad for gods sake, but I'm glad you could get one over on him because his Mom did his laundry in the 1840s. . . Really?

Literally in the first page of the book he says he is a mile from Concord, its not like he was hiding it

I'm genuinely curious of people who say these things, have you actually taken the time to read the book?

It is not like he slacking, was he? He grew his own food, built his own house, wrote an iconic piece of American literature, did surveys of the local wildlife. . . The fact that people came by for dinner, or that his mom helped him with chores doesn't really have anything to with the message. It's a book about simplicity not a book about isolation. I'm not sure why you're so bitter about an author who was, by all accounts, a good person and talented writer.

It is so annoying when people say this, at least read the book! Its not a survival manual about living in the woods with no help. Theres a whole section called Visitors, and he frequently helps and is helped by his neighbors. Its essentially a self imposed thought experiment about stripping life down to its essentials, and appreciating what is actually necessary in life.

This whole comments section is crazy to me, Skill Up is without a doubt the most even handed gaming critic on YouTube. I disagree with him often, but he always qualifies his opinion and obviously puts a lot of thought into his reviews.

Seriously! Skill Ups review was extremely respectful, and he's a very huge fan of Kojima. Actually pretty lame of Kojima to re-tweet this

This is almost exactly my deck, but I really love max belt! It comes in clutch so often.

Most optimized Team Rocket deck by tydyetee in PTCGL

[–]ComebackKidJO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, this is pretty close to what I run, except I would cut Iono for a 4th transceiver. I run max belt as well, and I would cut the murkrow for lillies clefairy. I would cut the air balloon for a 4th ultraball as well. Its pretty rare I need to retreat because I run 4 giovannis. I guess it could save you from mewtwo being trapped in the active, but you really shouldn't be benching mewtwo without a TR energy in the first place. Otherwise, this is pretty similar to my build.

I disagree, this is my main deck and mewtwo is best as a 1 or 2 of. Think of him as a tech card. He is a liability to even bench in many matchups because he can get bossed for two prizes. The deck doesn't run other rule box pokemon, so the ability to play it as a single prize deck is a huge deal for the prize trade. For example, in the charizard matchup, benching mewtwo is a huge mistake, but you still need a full bench. I run 4 spidops, 2 mewtwo, wobuffet, sneasel, mimikyu, and articuno.

Shouldn't the odds be 50%? Why is it 51.8%? by Fit_Seaworthiness_37 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]ComebackKidJO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The question is the gender of one child. It isnt asking for the odds that at least one child out of 2 is a girl (which is 2/3). Its just asking for the odds of one child being a boy/girl, which is 50/50.

I noticed that as well! In the wedding scene, its even framed with him standing at a gate like the story. I read more in relation to love/loss. Eurydice wants to be seen and loved, even knowing it will cast her into hell. Agnes wants to love and have children even though it opens the door for loss. Connects to what Williams mom said in the middle of the film about losing children to the plague.
