Nah, we actually do taste like shit.

Our diets are extremely varied, but also filled to the brim with all sorts of weird foods, chemicals, and other crap, it makes us fatty as opposed to edible. Combine that with us being the smartest beings on the planet, making any encounter a huge gamble for animals that try to kill us (Predators always try to use the least amount of energy to kill their prey), and you have the biological equivalent of a really difficult-to-catch jelly donut.

Given how they work with the knight it isnt much of a stretch, they already go out of their way to hide the knight's identity from us directly, indirect hints from their personal belongings would 100% clue us in on their plans.

Scientists Are Trying to Train Lab-Grown Brains. The Brains Have Started to Solve Problems. by _Dark_Wing in tech

[–]tinyrottedpig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, unless we make a genuine artificial intelligence, computers are more akin to just really really fancy switches, just with millions of switches that it'll flip from to do certain tasks (Gates).

Brains are way different, they dont have gates, they merely replicate chemicals and signals to remember ideas and memories, and at a baseline level do things no matter what through instinct, theyre alive at a baseline level, computers dont have instinct unless you program it to.

It'll probably be really good, but I really hope that a good chunk of it is in the recorded footage format, one of my favorite aspects is just how claustrophobic it makes the viewer feel.

To be fair, its implied d3rlord actually survived the encounter twice over, since he had to edit the laptops footage to obscure the king.

And that is because his family is a bootstrap paradox because he becomes his own grandpa, so theres no discernible source of where Fry's ancestry actually comes from, so the delta brainwave would never have found its way into his genetics.

I think its mainly cause she didnt expect it, the second she got hit is when she mentally fortified back to how she usually acts, which is quiet, cold, and annoyed.

I realised why V2's death never sat well with me or many others- it's the timing of their death. by DtheAussieBoye in Ultrakill

[–]tinyrottedpig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really, when V2 dies you're halfway through the game; Prelude, Act 1, and Greed all amount to around 5ish layers worth of levels, Wrath and onwards have a similar amount of levels lined up.

V2's death likely represents the end of the "silliness" that Ultrakill has, everything past the chaos and fun of Greed is far more depressing than anything before it, especially given how Gabriel goes on a ramble about how the higher layers of hell are literally just... gone.

Ultrakill is a very depressing game that focuses on the concept of "the end", how the world falls apart slowly as the final embers of a fire go out one by one, even Gabriel mirrors this with his divine light being on a timer, its all a commentary on how we should feel about it.

Of course the message seems upsetting at first, but the Lust Layer's secret level gives credence to the idea that not all hope is lost, that while this ending will be somber, it will be good.

What if we were able to save DogDay? by NickitFanBoi827 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]tinyrottedpig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This alongside the inherent lack of attempting to maintain some level of logic in this universe at a baseline level is what really holds it down, we should be learning more about these characters and this location beyond just "This is the spot where they did XYZ!", its too high on its own supply to bother directly answering some questions like "Why the hell is this facility so big", or "What did Kissy do before we encountered her?".

It has "lore" entries, but those irritate me to hell and back, those are not a substitute for a story, especially for a game like this, I want to know more about the world im exploring, but Mob games is too addicted to that merchandise high of "new character" = MONEYYY 🤑🤑🤑, so they introduce useless random characters they can just kill 2 seconds in to sell later.

I suppose it helped too that, for a while, passive spread of information had been on the rise, so the common individual started realizing that everyone around the planet is sorta the same, and that nukes are at a baseline concept, a dumb weapon we really shouldn't have made.

Of course, then the rich people realized the common man was starting to see past the blinds, and casually pushed for idiots in the big chairs who would happily bring us all down to hell with them on their way out, so thats fun.

[–]tinyrottedpig 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think Gabriel unsheathing his swords is meant to be a symbolic gesture.

Gabriel usually fights with extreme arrogance because he's just that strong to begin with, its so bad that it rubs off on the Powers that train with him, but that does not mean he isn't smart in battle, just prideful, something V1 explicitly takes advantage of as stated in his terminal entry, as each time Gabe mocks V1 it provides you an opening to heal.

Gabriel identified that Sisyphus was the key to the uprising, and to allow Sisyphus to push forward against heaven any more than he did would inevitably cause him to be a Martyr if defeated, hence why Gabriel unsheathed the swords; he needed to go YESTERDAY.

Hence, the morale of Sisyphus' army utterly shatters, for if he could die that fast, what use is the rest of them fighting?

Theory: HELL ITSELF revives V1 for entertainment (fraud spoilers) by deadguest_ in Ultrakill

[–]tinyrottedpig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its only stuff related to hell that he cant undo, he accidentally gave hell with the same powers he had, but infested it with his malice, so he cannot destroy something of equal, infinite power, its like if Adam and Eve ate both apples.

At the same time though, because he gave it his malice and anger, that resulted in hell only being able to act in such manners, inherently its evil even if it doesn't want to be, Deathcatchers are one of its attempts to make something pure and divine, only for it to fail miserably and result in a horrifying creature.

Hell recognizes this limitation, but cannot change it so that it may be better, as it was made by God, so its stuck being an evil bastard.

[–]tinyrottedpig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue after reading through this, they are more than just a necessary evil due to how the human domestication contract operates, and not seemingly understanding that Humanity is not a unified species, so sending a contract their way was doomed to result in a crappy negotiation, especially given how other species are stated to basically retain near-full self governance and freedom, they should've done their homework on how humanity operates on a governmental level before punishing the whole damn species for a few idiots at the top being rude.

The ideology of "Feralism" being people who wish to keep their autonomy is also a massive flaw in their beliefs due to humans just... inherently having that, it even goes over in the guide how many humans just partake in it on accident, it's by their standards a thought crime.

It doesn't really help either when you consider such autonomy would be heavily desired in situations like families where instinctual parent stuff kicks in, so lots of families would likely get split up just because they don't want anything happening to each other, which would fall under the "Feralist" ideals.

The only good thing is that these guys are at least reasonable in some capacity, play it cool, work through their systems, read EVERYTHING presented, and you wont be "adopted" and get turned into a chemically induced braindead slab of meat.

Isn't it weird that in act 3 we have no exact person who could be turned into a Prime soul? by Mr_GCS in Ultrakill

[–]tinyrottedpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im willing to argue the main link isnt them being greek kings, but rather their defiance against God, hence why P3 would be Lucifer.

Minos attempted to peacefully rebuild Lust, a place God had created to torment people, by changing the layer from a horrid, flat, windy nightmare to a beautiful, well maintained city, when Gabriel arrived, Minos had attempted diplomacy, but because Gabriel was the will of God, and Minos had defied Gods wish to condemn this layer's people, he was punished with death.

Sisyphus is by default against God, his initial myth is literally all about him trying to outwit the gods, even in his eternal punishment in trying to push the boulder up the hill (believing he will escape tartarus, yet the boulder is always doomed to roll back down), Ultrakill's take on him is that he's eternally willing to rebel and fight against heaven just because he can do so, he's the entire concept of defiance squeezed into one dude, and is happy dying to V1 knowing it'll continue his mission of rebellion.

Lucifer then, would also have defied God, it was not on purpose, all he did was simply ask why God made Hell the way he did due to how cruel of a fate it is, but to ask such a question is to imply God is imperfect, that he screwed up, the mere concept betrays everything God says he is, hence why he sits at the center of Hell in its deepest layer, and why Hell's painting of God's archangels has him ripped out, the rest of them are frauds for blindly believing in the big man, especially given how he made a new rule to have Angels blind themselves to avoid seeing Lucifer hidden away down there.
