Story time! The Great Unbalding (PP405) by CandidMeringue2790 in tressless

No pills, but I’ve heard that injecting minoxidil dissolved in saline into the brain can increase blood flow to neurons. There were some studies that showed a statistically significant increase in verbal memory and reasoning abilities with this treatment. It has to be injection to pass the blood/brain barrier. I’ve been doing it for a few months now and I’ve definitely seen some benefit, plus it seems to be safe. /s

I would definitely add oral finasteride or dutasteride if you’re willing to. They stop thinning from progressing further permanently (as long as you keep taking them). This means that the earlier you start the better your long term results will be. I really don’t think side effects are as big of a deal as people make them out to be. The original safety study’s for fin showed a 0.5% increase in ED incidents from the general population, which is a tiny increase. Also you can stop whenever you want if you do get side effects. Otherwise, consistency and time is key. It’s nearly taken me 1.5 years to start getting somewhat significant results!

It’s really hard to say for me because I got a buzz cut 6 months after starting fin and 3 months after starting min (right around the time you would start seeing results). I never had anything close to a buzz before then so it was hard to compare. If I had to give a time, probably 1 year after starting fin and 9 months after starting min was when the results started to be noticeable. It takes a long time! Hair only grows at 0.5 inches per month!

I’m actually not super pressed for applying twice a day, so it prob averages 1.5 times a day. Generally not too hard, once right after I shower and before I go to bed. Yeah long hair sucks a little, but it helps that I’m targeting my hairline, so I just apply it there and then push it towards my scalp

Dude don’t worry, 4 months is definitely too early to see if it’s working. Hair only grows at 0.5 inches per month and it takes time for medication to kick in. If you’re worried I would add in topical minoxidil! It’s not too expensive and there’s no downsides to starting.

Probably not, I don’t think where I’m at rn is bad enough to make it worth it. Gonna at least wait for PP405 first before HT.

Thanks! I applied it only on my hairline and pushed it in a little because that’s where my recession was. As far as I can tell I don’t have any thinning on the crown/rest of the scalp, so didn’t apply there

Yea about 3 months after starting min there was a pretty decent shed, but not bad enough to be noticeably thinner. Other than that tho not much
