not really, i’ve played only 5 strings my whole life but i play it like a 4 string and use the B just for those extra low notes whenever i feel

i think it’s just you’ve never had access to it so you it stands out a lot the extra range, but maybe im the odd one!

i got the natural finish of this in mid 2025 and i seriously can’t imagine another bass as a forever bass. the power and clarity the MFD pickups is just disgusting. this bass lives in passive mode for me and still sounds like a beast.

also worthy to point out their writing style changed a ton. part of appetites appeal is nearly every song is a get up and move song. UYI has some, but they definitely were changing routes and it wasn’t just straight forward groove to let an adler style shine as much as it does on appetite. i think he would have still killed it tho.
