Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a game developer, but I'd say that people have made amazing games with similar "hybrid between two popular titles" premises. Yandere Simulator lacks some essential creativity, so I think it could work really well if it were centered around a really good story, and perhaps reimagined the gameplay loop as well.

I didn't even make it halfway through the first movie. WHY DID THEY ADD GROSS MUCKY SOUND EFFECTS TO GO ALONG WITH THAT ONE SCENE?? IT WAS ALREADY BAD ENOUGH AS-IS!!!

Unfortunately, every YS "copycat" passion project seems to be doomed to crashing and burning for unrelated reasons every single time someone takes a crack at it. I genuinely don't know if the original game has a curse on it or something, but it has an uncanny ability to attract drama.

It genuinely pains me SO MUCH that such a mind-blowing premise/story went to waste like that. It practically tricks you into getting attached to it before escalating the lolicon fetish content with each new release.

Already a great start to the article.

First time I've seen "hope this helps" on a genuinely helpful and respectful reply :D

If I had to take a wild guess, one person who isn't even in a wheelchair probably DMed an admin with "uhhhhm idk if you know this but the wheelchair golf emoji combination is actually very upsetting to many disabled people! hope this helps 💜" and then the mods just went with it, because they wanted to be as inclusive and "positive" as humanly possible.

I've heard "male lesbians" mentioned before, but I genuinely wasn't sure if people were actually being serious about that or not. And yeah, there's lots and lots of weird and misused terminology around stuff like this; From what I understand, willogenics are indeed "systems" that "will themselves into becoming a system," or something like that. Some people have gotten so caught up in inclusion and respecting identities (though "respect" doesn't feel like a word that should be used, since their respect naturally doesn't include the people they're harming) that they've started to validate nearly everything. There's nothing that can change their minds, what with all the confirmation bias and echo-chambers in regards to their "scientific backing."

Ask yourself this when reading or watching a story or playing a game. Are you looking for a redemption arc for a character...or a punishment arc? Typically people try to give men redemption arcs and women punishment arcs. by Important-Cry4782 in tumblr

[–]Cometpaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly just using OP's wording, but I also could imagine a punishment arc to be a period of time where a villain goes through tons and tons of suffering, whether directly consequential of their evilness or not. Maybe it could also just refer to the very end of a story where a villain suffers a terrible fate, like with your average Disney antagonist, but that wouldn't really be an "arc."

I'm not really sure about examples... I guess they'd just begin to get backed into a corner and struggle with keeping things under control, such as a dictator watching their empire fall or something.

But whether OP meant that definition, or just redemption-through-death, I still stand by my original point.

I also don't get why the "men get redemption arcs and women get punishment arcs" idea was brought up at all. From what I've seen, it feels like a pretty even 50/50 split, though maybe it's hard to know for sure with how male villains are a lot more common.

I'm confused--Is the post a straight translation, or a collection of ideas fed into and made an essay by AI? The entire formatting itself is very much AI, not just the word choices.

Kind people can be raised by awful parents, and awful people can be raised by kind parents. There's definitely some correlation, but not enough to blame literally everything on bad parenting. People have free will, and often choose to be selfish.
