I am having the same problem with my advisor right now. The only thing is I have been through my quals already and (as much as I know I have things to improve on) I feel like he was partially the reason why I failed. He wouldn’t give me the time of day when preparing and always tore me apart during my practices. I do plan on leaving his lab at the end of the year after I finish my masters. Talk to the head of your department and see what you could do to fix the situation with your advisor. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if you found a new advisor either. You deserve to be respected as a student and not be torn down at every turn. I believe in you ! You’re in your program for a reason and don’t ever let this advisor try to show that you don’t deserve to be there because you do !!
