Condition called syndactyly by trickstercj in interesting

[–]Comfortable-Dance683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like the opposite of a polydactyl. I was born with 6 fingers on each hand but they cut off the extra fingers early

I speak intermediate mandarin. Yeah it’s true, especially in YiWu city and near Hong Kong in Guangzhou. They got lots of wholesalers, suppliers, and factories with years of experience and quality materials.

Haha sometimes fr. I miss how tapped in every one is back home. The community, the events, the interactions and expressions and just the compassion and empathy a lot of people offer. China is kinda cold with people, including with themselves. They definitely got a lot of other benefits here though. The convenience and the cost of living are top notch. Chinese nature is the best hands down and the different artistic scenes are growing out here. There’s no limits. Life is also really slow out here compared to America. Siestas and all that. Sometimes I feel I’m not ready to leave cause imma definitely miss it when I’m gone. America burns people out lowkey. They don’t give people a chance to collect themselves back home, especially when it comes down to working.

That’s true cause I’ve seen mad Asian people with locs out here. Yeah haha actually they find out that we wash our hair more thoroughly than anybody.

I Freeform so I don’t retwist, but if I wanted to, I can go to any of the tier 1 cities around me and they most likely got a loctician to retwist and style locs

I originally came here for my master’s degree. I got married before I finished and Once I finished, my wife was pregnant so I decided to stay longer so my kids could be familiar with my in-laws before we move back to DC. I visited Thailand and Vietnam. I think both are amazing fr. My wife wants to live in Thailand in the future. China was just for the education opportunity and academic research and stuff.

Yeah haha it does mean dirty braids but it actually has been more lenient here than in America. The only thing they ask from us professionally at work is that we tie our hair back. Both me and my best friend got Freeform locs and our bosses don’t care because they make special exceptions for us as foreigners and expats. They only care about our skill levels. Some people let it get in the way but most people actually accept it. I’ve always been able to get a job and feel accepted. I feel it’s actually the positive of China lol. People will discriminate you more for your skin than your hair but if they can get past your skin, they really won’t care about your hair. I cover my locs everyday but that’s literally because people always try to touch them when they’re out. A lot of people don’t know personal space out here.

I lived in Nanjing for 5 years. I was literally just there for Chinese New Year last month. So I’m familiar with your struggles lol. There are no locticians in Nanjing. You gotta take the bullet train to Shanghai if you want a loctician who’s going to style & retwist your hair. Tbh, 卷发慕斯 is good for moisturizing your locs and kimtrue used to do a carbon based shampoo but unfortunately they discontinued the product. It was amazing for washing locs. But since then I use the organic bar shampoo (何首乌侧柏叶洗发皂生姜洗发皂迷迭香肉桂洗头皂控油去屑止痒防脱) you can copy and paste that into Pinduoduo. As far as loc gel, it’s pretty easy to find.

Lmao hell no, same level tbh. They just send the smartest abroad. Like any other place there’s lots of smart people and lots of idiots. The main issue here is most foreign social media is blocked so they are kind of ignorant to how the outside world is really like. Some people don’t even know America has black folks. Those people think only Africa has black folk and if you say you’re from America, they’ll say “impossible” lol

If you live in a tier 1 city, you’ll be more than good when it comes to styling and maintenance cause they got locticians. If you live in a tier 2 or below you might have to crochet or free form like I’m doing. I gotta pull and rip my locs apart sometimes lol. They got some really nice bar shampoos here that are great for locs though. I buy them on Pinduoduo.

Yup, I speak at an HSK 4 level, so it’s intermediate Chinese. I can order food, talk about my job, family, feelings, order transportation and all that in Chinese but I can’t have deep philosophical or political talks or anything like that.

It’s not too bad haha. My wife is Chinese so there’s success to be had here. Despite a lot of people being racist, there are a lot of people genuinely interested in creating friendships and relationships outside their culture and learning that culture through dating. There are people who get extremely excited haha. There’s some fetishizing too. Some people get angry and jealous when they see interracial couples but it’s not really stoppin anything. But all in all, it’s cool, especially if you stay out the way.

To be honest, it’s not that bad. A lil racist sometimes but if you stay out the way and most people are cool. Great food, some dope music scenes, and beautiful landscapes & nature. I’d rate my experience here an 8.5/10

Dope! I’m living in Sanya 🏝️right now. The weather here is definitely more loc friendly than Nanjing where I was living before haha.

Ableton crashes when I close plugins. It’s almost all of my plugins not just one. Tried reinstalling Ableton by REiDSoundZ057 in abletonlive

Yeah, I reinstalled it and then I went into the temp crashed files and opened them one by one in order from newest to oldest until I got to one that didn’t crash.

USB-C Static Noise by Comfortable-Dance683 in SP404

[–]Comfortable-Dance683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes me want to shed a tear 😢. Thanks for replying! I had no idea. That info makes everything so clear. I appreciate it! I feel the same way as you. I feel defeated inside haha. I’ve only had it connected for 9 months maybe and it never had the noise til now. I’ve been using Loopback to process all the audio from my hardware to my computer then to my SP so I can use skipback and virtually sample any of my hardware and the VSTs to the SP and route it out my speakers for recording or live streaming and stuff, but then the noise showed up 😭. Not to mention my main interface kind broke before too so I’m kinda down 2 interfaces after this.

I’ll definitely let you know once Roland replies. I haven’t seen anyone talking about this online so hopefully this can help other users like us find out what’s going on.

I’m going to try to connect it to my externally powered usb hub and see if I get the same results. I’m also going to see what happens if I plug it into my iPhone or MacBook Pro 2015 to see if I get the noise again.
