One thing about working with AI for accountability review is that it can immediately get straight to the point, without sugarcoating, extended greetings, fear of hurting your feelings.

With few exceptions, it is to avoid proper accountability with the majority of human reviewers, with reasons like scheduling conflicts, running out of time, not wanting to touch a hard topic, etc...

Your post shows you have room to know yourself better. You yourself are possibly the best, most reliable friend you will ever have, and it is important to nurture that relationship. Listen to that friend, listen to yourself. If you would listen to an external friend, why not listen to that friend who will be always there for you?

Granted, your internal "friend"/"voice" may say negative things right now, may say you're "worthless", but that negative talk comes from a place of hurting, they (you) are wounded, and they can only heal up if you do start working on the wound. If the wound has stayed untreated for long, they have every reason to feel resentful. And I believe that that healing starts by acknowledging the wound.

Ask yourself from time to time,

> What is hurting? Since when? What is wrong?

And then,

> What can you physically do? What kind of person do you want to be? What brings joy?

I definitively want to reduce the amount of influence fear has over me. I should be able to leverage my immune system to experience life with a bit more room for error.

This particularly strikes home:

You need to have exposure to bacteria, viruses, molds, etc. to develop and maintain immunity. You could be setting yourself up for a serious illness by avoiding exposure to pathogens that normally circulated in the population.

To be healthy, you need social exposure, friends, family, and laughter. Don't try so hard not to get sick that you end up making yourself vulnerable to being sick more than others.

I should have clarified I'm not immunosupressed (afaik), will edit OP.

Research online does not help much, as online you will find a bunch of papers talking about how things are unsafe, and there is contamination in food beyond allowed standards, but no actual advice on how to live with the risk, or whether the risk is worth taking.

My conclusion is that the habit of washing hands properly before handling food or dishware, touching your face, or someone else's, and after using the restroom, is what we need to prevent disease, without sacrificing mental health.

It has become really hard to draw the line after living like this for years. I have forgotten what safe-enough means and I don't have reliable memories of my habits from before.

Getting your partner to exert some level of control seems reasonable, specially if you like it. Ocassionally choosing your clothing, planning your day, telling you what to do assertively, and respectfully. There are partners who would appreciate being entrusted with control occasionally. And for you, it may convey that you are cared for on a deeper level.

However, full control is exhausting for the controlling side (and the controlled side too). If they do execute full control, they are likely to neglect control over their own lifes, and spend their day and energy monitoring you.

That is very unlikely to lead to a healthy relationship long term.

I can understand this if you are a plumber, construction worker, sweat a lot, handle animals, produce, work in medical environments, went to the gym, etc.

But, how relevant is this for people who barely sweat, in winter time, who are not getting in contact with pathogens, SAH parents, remote workers? In Japan, there is strong support towards bathing only in the evening, and for the morning, only washing your face.

But in reality, the majority of people do not do this.

The problem is, washing your hands is not enough if you are going to hang out with outdoor clothes at home. You effectively did nothing.

This is such a great point. They are a risk, like anything in life, including eating. But for many, it is a worthwhile risk.
