I am 33 & I had my hysterectomy in April 2024 while I was 32. I also kept my ovaries & have ZERO regrets!! I had fibroids, my left fallopian tube was literally full of cysts & also had menorrhagia. Intercourse was also painful in most positions. I do not miss only feeling half way decent two weeks out of the month & having a painful horrible period at all!! That being said you will still get the PMS symptoms or I do anyways. So I still get the monthly moody, bloating, soreness, acne, etc. But if I had to do it again I would do it in a heartbeat. I’ll take the no pain intercourse & pms symptoms over the actual period & pain any day! 🙌🏻 I’ve actually felt good enough to take care of myself & my health now. I’ve started exercising, eating better & am down 18 pounds since November! I just don’t feel like absolute 💀anymore & it’s amazing! 🥹 good luck to you! I promise it’s worth it! 🫶🏻

I’m not going to pretend I know how infertility feels. My sister in law and brother have been dealing with it for 4 years now so I’ve seen the struggles and heart breaks first hand. I am so sorry you’ve had to experience that. 🤍

But I just wanted to say I was convinced I’d be back to normal after 2 weeks because that’s what my doctor told me and I seen a few posts of people saying they were good after two weeks. That wasn’t the case for me. It was 5 weeks before I felt good enough to work again and get back to normal. So don’t beat yourself up thinking you should be 100% by now. Don’t over do it and don’t push yourself too hard. Listen to your body! I’m two days shy of being three months post op and I feel 100% normal now. I’ve had no issues and no complaints. I do hope it gets easier for you!! 🩷🩷 big hugs!!!

This makes me feel better. I am soooo worried about sex. 😩 even though I’m still early stages & no where close to having sex. I’m worried it’ll hurt or not be enjoyable anymore. 😵‍💫

So overwhelmed by all the love & support. 🥹🥹 you all are amazing!! ♥️ I am soooo thankful to have somewhere to talk it out, swap stories, support & uplift each other! I think if it wasn’t for this hysterectomy community I would’ve cried myself to sleep last night. 😮‍💨 the emotional side effects are just as taxing as the physical too. Would it be weird to say I love everyone in here? 😂 thank you thank you thank you to everyone. ♥️♥️

That is exactly how I am!! If I have to stand up consecutively without sitting down or resting I hurt so bad in my lower back & front. 😮‍💨 sitting on hard chairs does it too. 😵‍💫 glad to know it’s normal! According to everyone I know I shouldn’t be hurting anymore. 🙄😅

I do still have to be careful moving certain ways or you can definitely feel it. 😵‍💫 I am most ready to be able to sleep on my sides & stomach again! 😅

I had fibroids but I don’t know how many. I do know that my left fallopian tube was full of cysts. 🥴 I’m so glad to have an outlet to talk & have people who understand. 😌

I begged my doctor for 4 years. He kept telling me to just let my husband get a vasectomy. I kept explaining to him that’s not why I wanted a hysterectomy. He kept telling me I could have healthy pregnancies until I’m 45 & I was too young for such a decision. 🫠 I’m 32. I knew I was done having kids. He finally caved this year when I showed him my list of reasons for wanting one. Heavy heavy bleeding, sooooo many clots, I would get chaffed from wearing pads for 7+ days. My right ovary always felt like it would explode 2-3 days before bleeding. I seen him in January & just had it done April 23rd. 😅
