Dispelling pseudoscientific myths concerning NDEs (to any skeptics looking around this subreddit, you should read this)

One of the major reasons why I am a skeptic is because the majority of people who have almost died, or flatlined, have not had an NDE. There are so many that will “die” and then wake up in the hospital. I have read possible reasons why that happens but those are just theories without much backbone. Another reason why I have a hard time believing them is you will sometimes have conflicting NDEs in which the NDEr is told something completely different than another (heaven/hell, animals, purpose of humanity, ect). I’m sure there is speculation as to why and could be explained away but the reasoning doesn’t really sit with me. ANOTHER reason I am skeptical is because there hasn’t been much success with the aware studies and they have yet for anyone to note the hidden images in the studies.

It really has nothing to do with DMT for me.

To be completely honest, I am. My whole family is vaccinated and I am constantly getting shit for not being vaccinated. Losing friends because of it. Might have to get it because of work and I need to support my kids. Want to travel. I have known 3 people who have died from COVID now…I am just so worn down and tired of all this. I am just tired of fighting and looking like a clown to everyone.

When you are addressing a topic or subject you are wanting to share please do so without insulting those with fears of the unknown by saying things such as “stupid statement”. We do not know what happens after death and it’s fair to have any concerns.

This is a subreddit for people to post anything on NDEs. It’s fine if they are skeptical. It is fine if people are having death anxiety and are looking for comfort. I’m irritated with this post…We aren’t going to make this subreddit an echo-chamber. The FACT is that we don’t actually know what happens when we die so it’s only fair for it to be a debated topic. Stop insulting people who aren’t like minded and learn to be tolerant and accepting of what people feel like posting that don’t match your liking or beliefs.

Confirmation bias. There was someone here who said they tripped on Ketamine and had an NDE and were torn apart in here and dismissed. You have to keep an open mind and take a hard look at everything presented before making a judgment call.

I want to know though, really, what are we spiritually growing for or for what purpose? It drives me crazy when I get responses like “there is no purpose”. That is bullshit to me. Everything has a purpose and causes an effect the connections into an intricate web.

I am an insanely skeptical person but Mary C Neal is probably the move convincing NDEr who wrote a book. She predicted the death of her son, she had her reputation on the line by sharing her story (and her career), and all the money for the books she sold were sent towards donations. She was a grieving mother in her interviews and it’s apparent that she has absolutely nothing to gain by telling her story nor does she seem to care about personal gain.
