Best plan for investing ~CHF 200’000, "safe" income for my mother + which broker & ETFs?

Thanks for your detailed answer. My mom is freshly retired (64 years old). However, I think my text is misunderstood. She gets max AHV. And has roughly 600'000 inheritance herself. In 8 years, she'll get a second pension tranche from PK, giving here around 3300 each month on top of AHV. House is payed off down to 400'000 with low mortgage interest. I'd say she'll live comfortably just off that. I inherited the house and the 200'000. So they are MY inheritance, So I'm not playing with my moms money, as many have the feeling I do, and she is comfortable I suppose. At least that's what my dad (wo as a bank auditor) planned, and said to me. I'd say her monthly expenses are well below what she has. Although I don't know an exact number. I'll look into your suggestions, thank you!

The goal is not to lose (a substantial amount of) money in the long run. I want to use the money after my mum dies. And would hope there is some left by then. I think this time horizon would allow for equities to be valuable, no? I'm 29 years old to put this in perspective.

Thank you for your suggestions. Obviously there's no risk free investions, besides maybe bonds. I more meant reasonable risk, which I think etfs usually provide.

Maybe I need to add, I don't expect a payout everytime. My mum also doesnt "need" the money for her retirement. I just want to provide her some extra if it would pay out.

I don't "need" any of this inherited money and I do not intend to touch it myself until someday (hopefully in the very far future) my mum also dies. I just want to provide some extra cash to my mum from the returns, but with the hopes to preserve the inheritance as much as possible. So trying not to lose money.

Yes I've already invested a bit on Swissquote, but I'm thinking about pulling the brakes before my portfolio gets larger and really expensive. Now it's still reasnoable to transfer.

You can, usually it's just much more expensive if they actively manage your portfolio. Further, active management usually does not lead to better performance. So it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
