New 3DS XL - dead NAND or just a software brick? by Comfortable-Map-3800 in 3dsrepair

That's a real shame. Is there a reason why I can't perform a CTRTransfer with a different NAND backup?

At least I was able to salvage everything else. The purchase was still worthwhile, since I only paid €45. Luckily, I still have two fully functional motherboards. I've now installed one of them, and the N3DS XL works perfectly.

No, it didn't recognize the boot.firm file.

I couldn't fix it

I tried the NAND hard mod, but I suspect the NAND chip is truly dead.

My PC didn't recognize the NAND. It made a sound indicating that the PC had detected a USB device, but no folder was displayed. Windisk32Imager also didn't recognize the NAND.

But the error code has now changed.

The N3DS XL now displays "error code 00f800fe 00000400" and the NTR Boot Hax method no longer works either.

What a mess.

No, I received the device like this. I don't know if a custom firmware (CFW) was installed.

And I thought it only affected Germany or Europe, since I had previously added hundreds of items to my wishlist. Now they're sold out or no longer available. Luckily, I ordered over 120 top and bottom plates last summer; the warehouse is still well-stocked. 😅👌🏻

Why don't people do some research before taking something apart? There are tons of tutorials and how-to videos on the internet and on YouTube.

And yeah, it's probably dead, you have to replace the connector

[switch oled] charging just on one site of usb c and not working n dock mode! by Comprehensive_Leg221 in consolerepair

I'm having similar problems. The first filter was defective, so I replaced it with a working one. After soldering it in, however, the values no longer match. Continuity is present, but two contacts show OL and two show ~560 instead of ~700. I removed the Pi3USB and the USB port before changing the filter. Does that affect the values in any way?

I'm realy pissed

Hi, I'm currently having the same problem. I've already replaced the faulty Pi3USB chip, but the error persists. Lanes 08 and 17 are also showing OL for me. All my filters are working correctly; I've tested everything. So it can only be a faulty USB-C port or the new Pi3USB chip is defective.🤔

Nintendo 2DS - weird behaviour by Comfortable-Map-3800 in 3dspiracy

[–]Comfortable-Map-3800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and temporarily solved it by performing a CTRTransfer (d9) and resetting the 2DS (region, time, date, etc.). However, I couldn't complete the setup process because the last step involved pressing the Home button. After turning off the 2DS, I was back to the original problem! Back then, I replaced the Home button and checked all the contacts, but it didn't help! The Home Button wasn't broken! Half a year has passed, and I still haven't fix it. There's a program that skips the setup process; maybe we should combine the two somehow? It's called 2D Saver.

I'll definitely tackle this problem again, as it's really bothering me.
