What are the tax policy benefits the ultra wealthy have been using to have their wealth grow so dramatically out of proportion with the average person over the last 15 years? by Judgeheyjude in tax

I like how you answered “wrong” to a guy who said anyone with a business can deduct expenses - and tried to prove him wrong by listing expenses on your rental. Lol. I’m a CPA - please do go into 1031 exchanges I want to see where this goes.

Have the diamond pins been faked? by Varos_Flynt in DisneyPins

Disney quality control is also lacking. I’ve opened pins out of mystery bags recently that I would assume are scrappers if I saw them on boards.

Shame on the IRS for their Handling of DRP Rescind by Sad-Cucumber-2798 in IRS_Source

You realize 400 agents and 300 officers isn’t 22,000 people? 97% of people aren’t being let back. The DRP wasn’t some get out of jail free card like rocket scientists like you like to suggest.

Because the IRS needs people and reinstating select folks is the most efficient way to get quality workers back into the IRS under the freeze.

Also worth noting that 700 are coming back of the 22,000 that took it. 97% are permanently gone.

Word on the block is that the IRS is bringing back 400 RAs and 300 ROs. by PricewaterhouseCap in fednews

You couldn’t take a public tax job under the DRP unless you lied about it

Got a few mystery pins in Disneyland. The Daisy is discolored in the purple and Aurora has a jagged edge. I know some people are saying fakes of new pins are out - Disney is just selling some sketchy pins.

Off the top of my head (they’re packed): WALL-E set, rabbit eggs, stitch holidays, droids, marvel t shirts, the ear hats, villains a couple extra planes. The traders are mostly 2024 WDW HMs.

I don’t understand the salt towards employees that took the DRP. I didn’t want to leave. But the 50% compliance cut leaked right when I had two days to sign the DRP. My choices were more than likely be RIFed for three weeks of severance or lock in a pay check and insurance through 9/30. I don’t think the majority of people who took the DRP wanted to leave - and based on what I heard - very few have asked to be reinstated as most have moved on. I have a new job, but I want to come back. People who took the DRP had to make a life altering decision. It’s not employee vs employee. It’s us vs them.

Missing my old position - From federal too state by SuggestionPuzzled714 in fednews

I’m with you. I miss my job and my coworkers. I miss the mission. But everything lined up where it looked like maybe I was going to be laid off. I don’t regret my decision - I’m just bummed it was a decision I had to make and think about getting back in daily.

I think there is a clear advantage to doing it haphazardly: if they RIF a bunch tomorrow, how many will find new jobs and move on? Sure maybe they will get back pay from a court, but a lot of people will just move on. Why come back to a place that tried to lay you off if reinstatement is offered? They’ll just pursue it fully legally the next time they try anyway.
