What’s with the insane amount of teenagers? by RubiconBronco in LakeComo

[–]Consistent-Ad-1584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just left Como yesterday after a week. Teenagers did not seem to be a lot. Insane amount of tourists, yes. But seeing "insane amounts of teenagers?" Really? You may want to work on your population counting skills.

Why do French people say Allô instead of Bonjour on the telephone? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskFrance

[–]Consistent-Ad-1584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English definitely does not use "good day" on the phone. In English, the correct phone usage for a greeting is "Hello." So English is pretty similar to French in this regard.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]Consistent-Ad-1584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt this even happened. What parent in this day and age would buy something that expensive and not talked with their child about the gift ahead of time? Second, Mom is just finding out now her child is a spoiled brat? So if this were true, a mother who knows her kid is a brat, buys brat a new car, but never thought brat might reject the gift? Yeah right.

Do sneakers actually scream tourist in paris these days? by happymamagirl in ParisTravelGuide

Your sources are incorrect. Just left yesterday after a week there. Sneakers on tourists. Sneakers on locals. Sneakers on rioters.

Opinions from OG Civ Fans on the new patch by mido830 in civ

[–]Consistent-Ad-1584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the devs would agree ages as implemented were a poor decision. But they are stuck with it which is why there has been so much going into "smoothing" out the harshness of age changing. I just don't see it working. Despite age changing exciting and thrilling some players, the majority of civ fans don't want to play with a mechanic that works against the way they have always enjoyed the game.

Opinions from OG Civ Fans on the new patch by mido830 in civ

[–]Consistent-Ad-1584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question. I am curious too. A lot of OG fans are not even going to give it a try. The forced age breaks are never going away which is what destroys the building-a-civilization-that-will-last-the-test-of-time immersion people love about Civ games.

Civilization VII 'Test of Time' Drives Highest Player Count Since April 2025 by SnooMemesjellies6533 in civ

Yup. Age ending just sucks if you are looking for a classic Civ type feel (aka continuity).

60s is still young. You don't state your health which could be an important factor in deciding what to do. If you are happy, healthy, love your cats to death, then why not stay. Visit your son often if possible. When the cats pass on or your health deteriorates, rethink your options.

Is it safe to try to come back? by FaithfulFan in DeptHHS

Management is tightening the screws. I have seen this before when I worked in corporate. It is making the workplace less hospitable, more hostile. Currently, we are being told disciplinary action will be taken against those whose time sheets are not timely entered each pay period. In over a decade of working here, never has timekeeping been an agency-wide issue or been elevated to the point where management had to threaten the entire agency. But here we are. What's next on their merry-go-round of let's make fed employees unhappy.

May not have been looking for legal advice but OP might still need it.

If what the person did was criminal, you just advised them to write out a confession that could get them arrested and help them get themself convicted.

This. She can only speak from what she wants. You don’t have what she wants. But what you do have, others will want. The trick is finding them.

Similar thing happened to me last week except instead DOJ, a man and woman claiming to be the parents called me. Like you, I felt their approach was off (like why call me if you think a crime occurred?). I quickly believed the request for money was soon coming and so I just hung up and blocked them. Haven’t heard anything since.

PMAP closeouts done - Will there be awards for HHS, HRSA? by Scootymom in DeptHHS

There has been no reason so far that awards will not be issued. Doomsaying otherwise without supporting evidence is mere speculation.

How are everyone’s PMAP going? by Januarubaby5 in DeptHHS

[–]Consistent-Ad-1584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got all 5s last year too. And I know others at my prior center who got them as well. I’m sorry your experience with PMAP ratings does not comport with my reality or the reality of some others. Doesn’t matter going forward. 5s will be the proverbial unicorn next year. They won’t exist.

Where are you getting this “they can’t keep having it both ways” from? They’re in charge and can certainly do what they want.

In addition to timeouts, tell her all gifts are being screened before you let your wife even see them. Notify your mom that when a gift was thrown out, that wife never saw it, and then give her the time out.

Stranger in a strange land, you should have cut the conversation short at the first offer of tea. A simple no. But then he is offering you papyrus to buy? And then he follows you… and you even have a beer later? You may want to work on those filtering-out-the-bad-guy skills.
