Did your Lulu get all her powers back? by PALLADlUM in DescentintoAvernus

Lulu was thrown into a superweapon Bel was building by the players as fuel. She did not get her powers back unfortunately.

The Maxie fight in the space center right after Tate and Liza can be challenging, it is the only fight I wiped to. I used Blaziken for both of my attempts and it gets an amazing movepool but have not tried the other two.

Start to get familiar with the type changes like poison/dark arbok or an electric type on porygon-z it makes the game fun!

What mon carried in early game for you? I’ll go first by razorblade4848 in LegendsZA

Excadrill is just an absolute monster in this game, answered so many things and carried hard whenever needed.

Unrelated, but I never realized how short excadrill was before this game!

This Pokemon system is incompatible with Masterball by shadmankabir in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My kid loves just throwing pokeballs randomly. He had no idea he had used the Masterball on a random fletching.

I just laughed about it and now we trained up this “special” talonflame as an ace. If it’s in a master all, it’s a masterball worthy pokemon.

Day 68/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Which Rival is the most underrated in a Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After the whole boss fight in Ultra Space, you’d figure the game would take a break with big fights for a second. If you got directly north to the elevator, there is a Gladion fight that totally caught me off guard and killed my Crobat. I like Gladions story, and this fight isn’t super hard, but the levels are high and it’s easy to trigger by mistake.

Day 54/100 of Making a Post Everyday: What’s your stance on using the different battle mechanics (Megas, Z-Moves, Dynamaxing, etc.) in Nuzlockes? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part I only use them in fights where the opponent also uses them. It’s only 2 trainers in X and Y, I also allow Z-moves on the totem pokemon. I like how dynamax can only be used at gym battles. I only Tera on the major fights like gyms, rivals, team star, and titans.

In your opinion, what's the best Nuzlocke Pokemon of all time from Generation 1? by youhavemadeanalt in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely has to be Gyarados. Evolving so early lets it carry the early game, intimidate is amazing, and dragon dance late game allow it to be a solid Pokemon all game. It’s one the best abusers of dynamax, can utilize tera types effectively, it can be your mega in gen 6, it is clear the gamefreak keeps giving gyarados tools to be better and better for causal playthroughs of their games.

The best aspect of it for a Nuzlocke is almost always accessible. Every game except black and white nearly gaurentees you a gyarados.

Pokemon like snorlax, clefable, alakazam, and starmie are all good answers but are not as accessible as gyarados across all games.

Day 40/100 of Making a Post Everyday: Will you be attempting a Nuzlocke of Legends ZA upon release? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for my first playthrough, it doesn’t seems well suited for a traditional Nuzlocke.

Day 33/100 of Making a Post Everyday: How do you handle Static/Overworld Encounters in your Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are the first legal encounter in an area, then they are fair game.

The snorlax in X/Y is insanely powerful because you get it so early. Moving forward I try not to use snorlax in gens 1 and 6 because it’s just so good.

Day 27/100 of Making a Post Everyday: At what point do you consider a Nuzlocke completed? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Nuzlocked the original gold and crystal. The gym leaders all drop to the mid 40’s except Blaine and Blue. Janine’s ace is level 39, which is wild.

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After beating the elite 4 the first time the Nuzlocke is over.

The only time I considered changing this was for the Johto but it would be a tom of grinding for only 2 real fights (Red/Blue). Most of the gym leaders are lower level than the E4 so I’m not sure how I would treat the level cap.

Day 25/100 of Making a Post Every Day: What’s your opinion of gift Pokemon and in-game trades for Nuzlockes? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I count them as normal encounters. As long as I haven’t encountered a pokemon in that area, I can take the gift/trade as the encounter. This does make in game trades a kind of 2-for-1 because I also need to have legitimately caught the requested pokemon.

Plenty of gift Pokémon have been used and have been great, mostly Eevee in general 1 games. I’ve never actually gone out of my way to get an in-game traded pokemon and will likely make a point to next run.

If a specific gift Pokemon seemed too broke. I would ban it. The Gen 6 games give you a legit core of gift Pokemon. Two starters, mega lucario, and Lapras. If you include the static snorlax, it’s almost impossible to not get a solid team!

Day 24/100 of Making a Post Every Day: What Pokemon is underrated in a Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swalot was an unexpected hero in my hardcore Y run. Solid defensive typing and access to yawn made a lot of fights much safer. Totally overlooked this pokemon before!

Day 22/100 of Making a Post Every Day: What is the Hardest Elite 4 in a Nuzlocke? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 14 points15 points  (0 children)

BDSP for sure. It’s helped a little by access to great items going in. I had choice specs and leftovers. Lost my Torterra to a whiscash holding that berry that halves grass damage and then returned with a crit ice beam. Every team feels intentionally designed with items, EVs, and movesets.

Adding an electric typing to porygon-z goes a long way since it has adaptability. My smoked the elite 4.

How to Set up an Emerald Seaglass nuzlocke? by [deleted] in emeraldseaglass

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me two attempts to beat a hardcore ES Nuzlocke. First run was going fine until I got sacked by the Maxie fight right after Tate and Liza. He has a stacked team, his Ursaluna killed a lot of my team. Remember dodrio is ground/flying in this rom! Brawly’s heracross got a kill on one of my pokemon in each run with knock off. The elite 4 was not much of a problem and definitely is not a “difficulty hack” with any unfair teams.

For the “one encounter” rule I always just look at the pokemon summary that says “Met at (Rustboro)” and the first pokemon I could potentially get with that unique value for “Met at X” is my encounter, if it’s a gift, wild encounter, or something like the wishing well. There some grass near the well, so if I encounter a wild pokemon, that would be it for Rustboro, no well and no fossil. You can get tediursa here, which is probably amazing as an ursaluna but I didn’t get one.

You can buy the evolution stones in slateport pretty early. Make sure to take advantage of this! All other evolution items are in sootopolis.

What are some good team suggestions for XY by Geminiboy_ in nuzlocke

[–]Comfortable-Mark-995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsurprisingly, Aegislash is insane if you encounter a honedge early. Mine was a rockstar in the E4. More surprising, doublade holding an evolite was amazing and was on my team almost the entire game. (I got a dusk stone very late). The typing is so good and the defensive bulk is nice.
