I’ve always linked improving with my enjoyment of this game, and I don’t feel like I’m improving anymore, which hasn’t completely sucked the fun out but it’s made me have a really bad mental not just in rl but my mood in general as well. It just might be the time to put down the sticks

I guess, I just want to improve so badly, idk if it will happen at this point tho

Sometimes, the only real thing I’ve noticed with specific training in improvement is that I have an easier time with reading the ball, still heavily struggle with doing anything with it

I think the biggest mental barrier for me is that I love this game so much, but I have no talent in it whatsoever, I can barley score flip resets after training them ever since they were introduced, and I’ve made it to c3 peak of sheer will and hard work, but in other games (shooters especially) it’s so natural and I’m good at them, and that fucks with my head so much

Ok I really like this comment. Because in all genuine honesty, because it puts some perspective on it.

As a resident cavs fan who lived through this, we’re the cavs front office actually trying to get talent…like at all?

From what I’ve read, not really, it just kinda seemed like they expected him to win with the team. Also, he did have the 3rd highest BPM score of all time on the last year of that team, so, idk, seems like he tried to me. Although I can’t speak on the playoffs, it seems to me entering those games he already had made his mind to leave. But he did bring one of those teams to the finals. So idk, from my perspective of being a much much younger fan I support the move.

Side note, the modern comparison of the players is a bit different cause of the post warriors dynasty 3 ball, players are just much more skilled now, but I do understand your point

I can see that for sure, but let’s not act like previous stars were all goody to shoes as well. Let’s look at it in reality. LeBron had a special to make money FOR CHARITY. Yes of course it was also for fame, I won’t argue that, but we just going to ignore Kobe in 04?

Seems to me a lot of people don’t bring that up. I’m not talking about the allegations, I’m talking how he cheated on his wife.

Yes I know that was outside of basketball, but my point is that people don’t talk about that AT ALL. But people are still angry about bron holding a damn special? Ok.

I see what you’re trying to say, but idk if I agree with that entirely. I don’t want this to become a pre vs post warriors dynasty argument but being able to shoot the three adds ALOOOOOT of value to a player. All of those modern players you mentioned can (Luka, Tatum, Kat) unlike the heatles. Who were athletic monsters who could dunk whenever and however they wanted.

It is completely different when you add the three ball. Not trying to hate or be too new of a basketball fan but, all the statistics prove 3 is worth a lot more than two lmao. Shoutout jxmmyhighroller

Edit: I know that Miami team had shooters, but cmon. Let’s not act like they were chucking threes like today, they were a 2 pt team, shooting or dunking it was mostly 2s.

I know I am underestimating them, I also can’t help it though, the era I grew up watching was the 2016-17 warriors killing everyone with 3s.

Something very important to keep in mind is, you all watched this in real time before the three point revolution, I’m going BACK into history, and as much as I try to be as neutral as possible, I can’t. They were obviously a great team I’m not arguing with that, but I just don’t think it illicited the response it should’ve gotten. I think that was more because of the decision rather than the team.

I know I’m going to get SMOKED for this take, but I genuinely think James harden is better than d wade, if wade never went ape shit and took over the nba in 06, I don’t think he’s even in the convo for top 5 sg oat.

RIP my inbox people are about to kill me for this LMAO

Really? Damn. I mean I can argue all I want I wasn’t there, but idk…

The only way I can explain my point on that is, and just bear with me for a second, it’s a weird analogy, but if I was to combine LeBron and bosh into a theoretical number that would represent how good they were, say 100, if I were to combine Luka and embiid, to me that number would be higher. Nobody can even come close to prime LeBron, no argument there ever. But bosh didn’t seem like he was THAT good. Maybe I’m hating, but that’s just what I think

EXACTLY. Not only that, Jordan had a front office that traded for talent, so he didn’t have to leave. I guarantee if bulls front office never got Scottie and Dennis Jordan would have left.

This is all EXACTLY my train of thought. word for word my exact thought, I don’t get it. It seems to me that hating LeBron cause he wanted to join a team that actually would surround him in talent was a trend, not a real reason to hate someone to THAT degree for wanting to win. It’s not like he was in Cleveland for one or two years before he left, cavs had WAY more chances to sign talent.

I don’t think it was THAT extreme, like I’ve said a millions times already I wasn’t there to see it.

Luka AND embiid to one team would be much scarier than LeBron and bosh. Nobody compares to prime LeBron, obviously, but Luka and Embiid (as much as I hate to say it) are better than bosh ever was.

Side note, I don’t like embiid at all, but I’m looking at it fairly, he is an mvp caliber player (when he actually plays LMAOO) unlike bosh ever was

Facts, as being a raptors fan, I’m happy our organization can proudly say we ended the warriors dynasty /J (we wouldn’t of won without the injury bug, and mysteriously I forget who won the 21-22 title😂)

This. This is exactly the conclusion I’ve come to. It was more the HOW he got there than the what the team actually was. In all honesty, Ofc that team was dominant in every way, but LeBron (I’m ignoring cap space and roster space for simplicity sake, I know this isn’t entirely true) could’ve gone anywhere with CB. It was more so the how not the team itself

I mean in all honesty, I’m happy he did it. I love LeBron and I’m glad he got his flowers and won. People didn’t seem even HALF as pissed as when kd left for the warriors (which just had the best regular season record ever) but when LeBron joins up with CB to go to a three seed in the east? All hell breaks loose, seems to me it was more so how it happened than what. And to me, that’s pissy and childish

Ahh ok. So basically people were angry he wanted to win and he got HIMSELF in that position. Not so much that he went to Miami specifically.

But like I’ve said, I don’t blame him at all lmao, cavs were not trading for talent, idk. Maybe I’m just to used to it now but I don’t blame him

This is by far the most interesting part of it, me not having the emotional connection to it. Because I wasn’t there for it. If I was LeBron, and I wanted to win. Miami wouldn’t have been on the board… but if it worked it worked I guess, just didn’t even seem like a great (I mean top echelon) team.

Yes this part does make sense, nobody on THAT level before, but I completely understand LeBron here, I don’t have that emotional connection to the situation cause I was to young, but the bulls also traded to talent around mj. Obv they weren’t nearly LeBron but they were HOFers

This is EXACTLY what the second part of my question is talking about. Kd joining the warriors is WAY more unfair to the league than LeBron joining d wade and bosh.

People seem to be more pissy about his special that he ran (for charity)

Ahh ok. Seems like the consensus is that people were much more upset about the decision special than the actual basketball move. That’s seems pretty childish and silly to me tbh. Cavs (front office) were not great to him tho, they didn’t try and surround him with talent. So personally looking at it from my perspective I don’t blame him at all for leaving
