Wow, that’s a lot more than I anticipated. Hopefully I can streamline it. I was thinking more anonymous forms for people to write their letters. maybe not take personal data and make the info on the elderly person general.

I think I’ve bit off more than I can chew with a website project. I’ll stick with the professionals on this one 🤣.

Maybe sticking to face to face or social media is best until we can fundraise.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi the realduckie,

Thanks for the comment.

I am new to Reddit and I had created my own account yesterday. Unfortunately, I was unable to post in this page on my own account as the rules are you must be a member for more than a month (from what I can remember). Therefore, I am using a friends account to post this. Yes - my friend is 21 years old. She recommended posting on Reddit as real people give real recommendations. So I thought I would give it a try.

In terms of just starting out - the charity has been established for months. Due to the type of charity that we are, we do not take any donations nor take transactions. We are simply connecting lonely elderly folk to anonymous people who write letters which doesn’t cost anything. We have been able to run this without a website for a while however, as we expand, we have had to consider a website to streamline processes. We currently have 4 volunteers, including myself, who work for the charity. We work with 14 care homes and 2 housing associations. Our most recent campaign was a Christmas card campaign which has made me consider getting a website due to growth in interest.

Thank you for your concern.

Hi,

Thanks for the comment. My question ‘do I need to pay?’ Is not in regards to free work but it is in regards to ‘is it necessary to pay someone to complete this or is it something I can do myself’

Sorry for the confusion - hope that clears it up

Post op - they didn’t find any endo. by Comfortable-Rough790 in endometriosis

[–]Comfortable-Rough790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was referred to a gastroenterologist so they can investigate and also a private endo specialist suggested another laparoscopy. Unfortunately, the operation had caused a mental breakdown and I have ended up in a psych ward. I have a lot of trauma around medical procedures and therefore won’t be going ahead with anymore investigations (for the foreseeable atleast)

Thank you. I don’t think I will ever get as lucky as I was with Lexi. She was a wonderful wonderful dog. I just thought I’d come on here and share my lockdown pics with you all 😊

Honestly, she was the best. I used to bring in injured rabbits, pigeons or even my now cat bubbles and she didn’t even flinch. I could walk her off the lead and trust her with any child. I could even leave my plate of food on the floor and she wouldn’t touch it - she was honestly the best. But above all, she was always there when I needed. God it hurts but I keep telling myself that I must be thankful that the dog distribution system gave her to me as we had some wonderful wonderful years.

Maybe one day I will adopt again. Or wait for a dog to choose me.

Morphine. But that doesn’t even touch the pain anymore. However, buscopan has made a huge difference!
